forsyy on Gambit: "I think for every team like us, they are an idol"
Young Czech AWPer David "forsyy" Bílý sat down with HLTV to talk about V4, his love of Gambit, and the grind for young teams.
In the midst of an impressive underdog run at V4 Future Sports Festival, Enterprise have already taken a notable scalp in the form of world #17 Movistar Riders.

After running Entropiq painfully close in a 1-2 series loss, which included a 14-16 loss on Ancient and taking the Russian squad's map pick, forsyy sat down to discuss his team's run so far, where they have come from, and where they are looking to go.
It's been a great run for your team so far this tournament, but I guess the best place to start is the match you just played against Entropiq; how do you think you were able to run them so close?
We know Entropiq is a very good team and we knew it would be a hard game, but we just went into it and played our game. We didn’t expect that we could win 2-0, but we won Nuke and on Ancient it was really close, and on Mirage we lost every single round we had an advantage. They were just the better team today, but we didn’t expect it to be so close to be honest. We know we can play close against really good teams, but I think Entropiq will probably win this tournament, because they are playing really good CS right now.
How were you able to take away their map pick of Nuke?
We were practicing Nuke a lot because we know we struggle on that map, but I don’t know actually. I think their style fit us, and of course the LAN environment… we lost Ancient, maybe they got a little overconfident in themselves and maybe underestimated us a little.
We just won some rounds on CT side and got I think a 5-0 lead, and we just got confident and won round after round. Then on T side (laughs) we were getting a little scared that they were gonna come back, but we told ourselves “let’s not be scared”, so we just rushed A two times in a row and they didn’t expect it (laughs). Then we just closed it out somehow. As I said we practiced Nuke a lot, and I’m glad it worked out.
To even get the chance to play that game against Entropiq, you took a big scalp against Movistar Riders. What allowed you to take that one home?
They were playing a really structured game, so we knew where they were because of the nades; they were taking almost everything with nades, so we knew what they were probably doing. My teammates also played really good on B, they denied every B explosion or B execute, and I remember it was like 7-3 and I had 16k in the bank, so we had really good economy. I couldn’t get into the game, but my teammates were playing really good, and I am glad for it.
Obviously now you have a game against Gambit in the quarter-finals, how are you feeling about that matchup?
To be honest Gambit is my favourite team. I think for every team like us, they are an idol or their favourite team is probably Gambit, they were young guys like us and through grinding and grinding they were the best team in the world with their slow style and really smart CS. I am really looking forward to that.
Actually when they arrived, I was with my teammates sitting near the elevators, and all of Gambit except Hobbit were in front of us, and I asked them if I could take a picture (laughs). I just told them that they are an inspiration, now I am going to play against them! That’s insane, I’m really happy. It’s Gambit so of course the chances are that we will go home, but we are just happy that we can play against them and get that experience, play our best and maybe do a close game. We can enjoy it, because it’s Gambit (laughs).

What would need to happen for you to be able to win?
I hope that Gambit is not gonna feel good on LAN, I hope the environment makes them not play that good. If we have a lucky day, or a really good day individually and teamwise, and Gambit are not on point, maybe we can win or take at least one map. We are massive underdogs, but maybe it can happen. It depends on the veto, if we get good maps and we start good, and get confidence, maybe we can win a map but it’s going to be really hard. I am really looking forward to it.
Before we came to V4, we saw that Gambit are also coming to V4 and we just went like “I wanna play against Gambit, what if we play against Gambit, it’s gonna be insane” (laughs). I am really happy for that, I just love Gambit. Amazing.
You earned it! Talking more generally about your team, this will be the first time a lot of people have seen you play, so tell us a bit about your style, the roles in your team, and where you guys came from.
I dunno, it just depends. I guess we maybe took an inspiration from Gambit, we try to react on game, on what the enemy is doing. The eLiVe, Eric, he is the IGL, I play AWP, manguss is our anchor and lurker, ADEJIS is a support player, and MATYS is just killing everyone, the star player (laughs).
Is he your Ax1Le?
Yeah something like that (laughs) his aim is really insane, he is really good.
As for our history, we were just really grinding for the past three months, we played a lot of matches. We played in ESEA Premier, but we dropped down because we couldn’t make it, it was one match that decided if we stay there, but that doesn’t matter. Playing in Premier really improved us as a team, we got some invites to tournaments, and now we just play, grind, and improve.
Now we are at V4, this is insane experience for us, playing against teams that we take notes from and learn from. It’s amazing what we have accomplished, I am really happy with what we showed here, and I hope we can continue like this and just grind and grind.
What are the goals for this roster, are you aiming to hit the top-50 for example?
I am really happy with our ranking, no one from our team expected it. When we created this team, I don’t think we had any goals or anything like that, we just wanted to grind and have some structure, get to know each other. The goal was probably to get some invites to tournaments which are on HLTV so we could grind our ranking.
My goal personally was just to play as much as possible, get maximum experience, we did that and now our ranking is just improving because we play a lot and win. We are learning from our mistakes, trying new things and it is just working out so I am happy for that.

What's so impressive is the fact you have made all this progress without a coach behind you, how have you done that?
In the Czechoslovakian scene there are not very many coaches that can really help you. Maybe there is someone who can emotionally get you going in a good way or help you in some matches that way, but there is like no coach who can improve your game.
Eric, our IGL, he really knows a lot about the game and is like a big brain (laughs) he is always thinking about the game, it’s crazy. I don’t think there’s any coach who can match him or get close to his knowledge of the game in the Czechoslovakian scene. Of course there are coaches who can help out mentally, but we want a coach that would really improve our game and fix our mistakes.
Now we have one guy, an international coach, or we are trying him. I hope it will work out, it’s going good now, he is helping us fix our mistakes. We played without a coach for a long time now, and if we want an advantage from getting a coach, we need the right guy.
How important are tournaments like V4 Future Sports Festival for a team like yourselves?
This is our first international tournament, or tier 1 or tier 2 event for us. It’s amazing to play LAN against international teams, in our local scene we have 5 or 6 big LANS per year, but we have never played a real LAN like this and it’s just amazing. It’s insane experience for us to play against teams like this who have grinded their way up, and we are playing them in close matches, getting experience, getting confidence.
This is probably the best thing for us, playing in these types of tournaments, every official against a bigger team is really good experience. We are really happy that stuff went the way it did, that we almost beat Entropiq and now get to play against Gambit.
And you did beat Movistar, don’t forget that!
Of course! (laughs)
