NIP, Vitality, Liquid secure BLAST Premier World Final spots

The three teams join Natus Vincere, Gambit, HEROIC, and G2 on the team list for the $1,000,000 event.

With the results of the first two days of BLAST Premier Fall Finals, three more slots for BLAST's final event of the year have been decided based on their Global Leaderboard. The ranking allocates points based on achievements in the BLAST circuit, as well as premier ESL events and the Valve-sponsored Major.

Vitality are the only team of the three that has scored wins at the Fall Final so far, securing a top-3 finish, but the amount of points both Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas have accumulated so far means that there is no way they could miss out on a spot at the World Final. G2 are also confirmed for the event, having been the first to qualify via the leaderboard.

NIP will be playing another event before the winter break

A total of eight teams will compete at the $1,000,000 LAN at a yet undisclosed location from December 14-19, and seven are already decided. Half of the spots were allocated directly to champions of notable tournaments, with HEROIC being the first one to qualify after winning ESL Pro League Season 13, followed by Gambit who won the BLAST Premier Spring Final.

Natus Vincere secured their spot by winning ESL Pro League Season 14 , leaving one slot to be secured by winning the Fall Final. BIG, FaZe, and Astralis are in contention for that slot, but in case the tournament is won by a team that has already qualified for the World Final, an additional spot will be decided through the BLAST Leaderboard.

Looking at the leaderboard, Astralis are currently the highest rank, but BIG or FaZe could make up the difference based on their placing at the Fall Final.

To be fair if they rightly qualified for it by being 4th on the blast leaderboard, you can't just cut them from your $1M prize pool event just because they might not be practicing as intensely as other teams. Would send a bad message

Somewhat I find it good. It makes the org (liquid and vitality) look greedy, because they do not want to pay the buyouts. And for vitality, shox and kyojin have something to prove for his potential next team. Same as grim. Team wise, it is horrible though
