Pinnacle announces Winter Series I featuring Eternal Fire, Apeks, Sprout
The Pinnacle tournament series continues with the Winter edition, which will kick off with the first of three event on January 17.
Pinnacle has revealed details about the last series of events leading up to LAN Sweet LAN, the Winter Series. Three tournaments will take place over the course of the next few months, the first of which will un from January 17-February 2.
The familiar format Pinnacle has used in the past remains, with the tournament kicking off with a Regional Swiss stage. From there, eight teams will move on to the Main Swiss stage to join eight more invited teams, while four big names await in the playoffs.
The new Apeks squad which was finalized in January is one of the standout names on the list of the Regional teams, alongside the likes of Endpoint and Australian squad Looking For Org, who have made the trip to Europe to compete in various international competitions.
Several top 30 teams have been invited to the Main Swiss stage, including SKADE, Eternal Fire, and the recently rebuilt Sprout side around Rasmus "raalz" Steensborg. Invites to the playoffs are still yet to be revealed.
A total of $84,000 in prize money will be on offer in each of the three events, as well as a spot at the $250,000 LAN Sweet LAN finals in Belgrade.
