The Brazilian youngster will stay on the team in place of Marcelo "⁠chelo⁠" Cespedes for their IEM Katowice Play-In appearance.

MIBR have announced that they will continue to utilize 18-year-old academy member Breno "⁠brnz4n⁠" Poletto during IEM Katowice instead of chelo, despite the latter player having recovered from COVID-19 and being eligible to return to their lineup for the event.

In the announcement, strategic coach Renato "⁠nak⁠" Nakano explained that MIBR chose to keep brnz4n in the roster for the tournament as they didn't want to break their stride ahead of an event like Katowice, with the team already having officials and practice under their belts with the academy member.

brnz4n continue to play for MIBR at IEM Katowice

brnz4n previously stood in for MIBR in place of Ricardo "⁠boltz⁠" Prass in 2021 due to the player testing positive for COVID-19, and was once again called up for BLAST Premier Spring Groups when chelo was sidelined for the same reason.

There, the youngster impressed as he was the driving force for the Brazilian side in an upset win over Natus Vincere to open the tournament, but despite a later win over Complexity, MIBR were unable to advance to the Spring Final and got sent to the Showdown following subsequent losses to Vitality and G2.

Competition for MIBR will remain fierce in Poland as they are the second-lowest ranked team in the IEM Katowice Play-In out of a field of 16, with only eight of those teams advancing to the main event.

MIBR will continue to use the following roster for Katowice:

Chelo has been out for mir months now, do you know why exactly? Im wondering because he actually seemed like a decent player who could take over games on a high level. However brn4zn looks promising as well. He has a lot of impact but this makes me wonder if there is no space for both on the team

No worries for Chelo really. With all of the different BR rosters facing uncertainty as to their performance level, one will certainly find themselves in need of a shakeup/a better entry player. This also may not be permanent
