The Australian rifler will take over for Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool while the Estonian player is sidelined due to a Covid infection.

Justin "⁠jks⁠" Savage will be filling the shoes of FaZe's most recent signing, ropz, at IEM Katowice, as the Estonian star will have to sit out the first matches due to a recent Covid infection.

The news of the 22-year-old's sidelining came on Wednesday, and would put a possible return to the server on February 19 were his team to still be alive in the tournament in Poland, once his ten-day quarantine period ends.

The transfer-listed Complexity player will stand in for FaZe before IEM Katowice proper, as the international squad will kick off their run in the event's preliminary stage, the Play-In, where they have been seeded against Sprout in their opening series.

ropz will be a tough player to substitute, as his debut with FaZe helped the international side make it through the BLAST Premier Spring Groups successfully with the Estonian averaging a team-leading 1.26 rating in the process.

This stint as a stand-in will mark jks's return to the servers in an official competition for the first time since the international Complexity squad he was a part of disbanded in late 2021, and will be a prime opportunity for the 26-year-old to show himself in hopes of raising his stock while still on the Dallas-based organization's books, as he was unable to perform in his year as a starter there to the same level as he had done with previous teams.

FaZe will field the following team at IEM Katowice until ropz is cleared to return:

You do know he played completely different roles on Complexity right? He was unable to play his normal roles due to BlameF and Coldzera Thankfully he is a 1:1 replacement for Ropz so he should be able to slot into all of Ropz's T side roles easily

Role at this point is irrelevant given he is just a last-minute replacement. He has hardly anytime practicing with the team. A few days at best. Each team usually has its own flavor for the role. Some teams have very aggressive lurkers while some other teams have very patient ones. Frankly, at COL, jks's game sense and aim sucked big time so I don't think it matters which role he played to be completely honest.

You're completely delusional, Of course roles matters, HE IS LITERALLY GOING BACK TO THE ROLES HE PLAYED BEST ON WHEN PLAYING FOR RENEGADES / 100T, How can you not understand he went from a star carry level lurker to basically a hard support / entry by the end of Complexity, The entire time on Complexity he had 0 leverage on the roles he wanted to play because of how selfish BlameF was the entire duration, Not to mention the constant rotation of stand ins the team also had I really urge you to watch JKS' interview with Thorin, He talks about agreeing to join Complexity to play his usual roles but got them taken away from him 2 events into the team by BlameF (JKS played really well his first 2 events btw) , RUSH said very similar things on his interview with Thorin also, The general end result of the whole Complexity mess was that BlameF was the issue, He was a terrible IGL and took up way too much space

Perhaps, you should tell him all of these as some sort of condolences. At the end of the day, what you said doesn't change anything regarding his tenure at COL. Numbers speak and excuses don't. Even if I agree with what you said (which I don't), does that change anything on how average he was in COL? So all you have is "he played badly because he was forced in a bad role". Like that is gonna sell any newspaper. Sure, I wouldn't blame him solely for what happened at COL but as a player, he was hardly a "carrier" given what was expected of him. Again, I have no issues with him as a player. I just speak from what his numbers say which ain't great. Frankly, if Olof was available, FaZe might actually stick with Olof instead of jks. During the roster shuffle period, he wasn't even picked by any teams and there were quite a few which went international. That pretty much shows me he isn't highly-regarded among the inner circle either.

Numbers don't mean anything when playing 2 completely different roles but it's not like JKS did badly even with both BlameF and Coldzera baiting him hltv.org/stats/lineup/players?lineup=921.. It's pretty public knowledge JKS has an extremely insane buyout that only a few teams could ever really afford, Mouz and OG for example certainly couldn't afford it
