The Brazilian squad have finalized their lineup just in time for ESL Challenger League.

Following the transfer of Rafael "⁠saffee⁠" Costa to FURIA, paiN have announced the signing of Gabriel "⁠nython⁠" Lino as their new fifth player. The 24-year-old was last seen playing for Isurus before he departed the lineup in January.

paiN have been without a fifth player since the start of the year, not having any officials until now, when they are set to compete in season 40 of ESL Challenger League North America.

nython returns to a fully Brazilian lineup

nython kicked off his career playing with the RED Canids-Paquetá core, competing alongside the likes of Dener "⁠KHTEX⁠" Barchfield, Lucas "⁠destiny⁠" Bullo, and David "⁠dav1deuS⁠" Tapia Maldonado. The team found success within the Brazilian scene, winning CLUTCH Season 3, placing top four at the Spring and Summer 2021 Regional Major Ranking events, and placing fourth overall on the 2021 RMR for South America.

The 24-year-old will look to continue his strong form on the AWP, carrying over a 1.17 rating in the past three months while playing with Isurus. Other than ECL, paiN will need to qualify for the PGL Antwerp Americas RMR tournament through either the North or South American open qualifiers. They also have a spot at the ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference through their third-place-turned-second in ESEA Premier Season 39.

i think if pain wants to be a brazilian team like godsent or furia it will need some changes in this roster but let's see how they do this year

Pretty sad that Nekiz once was a rising star in br, and like 1-2 years ago PKL and nekiz were the only known players while the others were nonamers. And now the suggestion is to remove those 2 just shows how fast things can turn completely.

You would be able to get it at the Isurus official website since they ship worldwide, but it's currently out of stock and I don't think there's really a way to know if they will make more, mostly because their new jersey's out now :(

I don't think they will evolve if PKL has this karrigan/gob b style to be IGL: 100% brain and 0% fragging, this is so outdated, it costs matches nowadays.

You sign an AWP to sign another AWP+IGL later? Don't think so, in reality paiN will need to search in all brazilian teams for another rifler+IGL and its gonna be though to found one better than PKL :/

Nython seemed to be quite impactful when he was playing for Isurus, and PaiN's roster are used to playing around an impactful AWPer, so let's see, he might shine like Saffee did before going to Furia. Even more interesting is the fact Saffee isn't delivering the same gameplay quality anymore, so I wonder if the real reason Saffee was shining before was PaiN's way of playing the game. We'll see.
