Fragadelphia 16 playoffs set to start

Apeks Rebels, TeamOne, and ATK are some of the highlight names to make it to the bracket stage of the event.

Fragadelphia 16 has reached its playoff stage after three days of action, with eight teams advancing to the single-elimination, best-of-three bracket that will play out in its entirety on Sunday to crown a champion in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The tournament kicked off with the Last Chance Qualifier on Thursday, from which 12 teams secured berths to the main event. The most notable team among the names was Apeks Rebels, who travelled from Europe to become the first international team to attend a Fragadelphia event, cruising through their matches with little difficulty.

The group stage of the main event made use of best-of-three GSL groups, featuring two separate stages. The first included four teams that received direct invites based on their placement on the Fragadelphia circuit leaderboard — TeamOne, Kinship, Old But Gold, and Underground Kings — as well as the twelve teams that advanced through the Last Chance Qualifier.

Predictably, Apeks Rebels and TeamOne both had little difficulty in advancing past the pool of ESEA Advanced and Main rosters, joining a handful of ESL Challenger teams in the top 16 stage of the tournament.

From there, very few upsets unfolded, and the favored sides were able to top their groups and advance to the bracket stage, with TeamOne, Apeks Rebels, Strife, and Gaimin Gladiators advancing through their groups undefeated.

With the quarter-finals set to kick off shortly, the matchups for the playoffs of Fragadelphia 16 look as follows:
