Entropiq best MOUZ in ESL Pro League opener

Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov’s men took their European counterparts down in two maps.

Entropiq and MOUZ took to the stage in the second ESL Pro League match following G2’s victory over Looking For Org, in what on paper was to be a fought out battle between the 12th and 13th teams in the world ranking and a grudge match from the IEM Katowice Play-In, where MOUZ kicked Entropiq out of the lower bracket to secure their spot at the main event.

The match delivered as promised on two different maps than the Vertigo and Ancient played in Katowice. Dust2 kicked off proceedings with a tumultuous 29 rounds that saw the Russians prevail in extremis, 16-13, before MOUZ were unable to react on their own map of Mirage, where Christopher "dexter" Nong and his men underwhelmed in a 10-16 ending to the series.

Forester topped the board on both maps

On the attacking side of Dust2 it was the former DreamEaters, Hard Legion and Winstrike duo of Vladislav "Krad" Kravchenko and Igor "Forester" Bezotecheskiy who brought the heat with 14 kills each before the switch. Forester kept up the pace and continued to frag out on the CT side to hit 34 kills and 119 ADR in the 16-13 victory despite Aleksei "El1an" Gusev, who ran into early technical issues with his equipment, completely disappearing from the server in the first map.

Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás, who turned heads at IEM Katowice, showed early signs of putting on another show in the match against Entropiq, but after a decent start on the CT side, the Hungarian AWPer failed to leave his mark on the attacking side while Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras, with 100 ADR and a 1.34 rating, gave his all to get his team through the finish line, albeit to no avail.

The series then moved on to MOUZ’s pick of Mirage, but Forester continued to go on a tear, winning a 1vs2 clutch when both teams were tied in the fourth round followed up by an ace to bring things back even in the 12th round, propelling his side to a crucial 9-6 victory at the half. With the wind in their sails Entropiq didn’t let up and got the most of an overwhelmed MOUZ to seal their victory, 16-10, on the attack.

Agreed, they should've promoted jdc and xertion not sign nbk on the decline and should've kicked botmas

I honestly don't have a clue what they were thinking having both NBK and dexter in team when they got one star (frozen) one potential star (torzsi) and one ok role player (bymas). 55 ADR club, lol...

I think they will kick dexter before him. Dexter probably signed 1 year contract.

they need to kick both anyway. The team just sucks, no strats, no firepower with nbk and dexter

I agree, the strats are pretty basic. I think they won't kick NBK since he just came yesterday.

Honestly it felt like Entropiq had so much more firepower than MOUZ in this match, I feel like they've won like 70% of their 1v1 duels, I would never expect something like this in such a match. I think not many people actually realise that this was the debut for MOUZ main 5-man roster, and they had some positives, there is a lot of work to do but overall I think if they get a lot of time they might get to a decent level as a team. +1 they throw so many rounds on Mirage. D2 was entropiq domination, no matter the score, but on Mirage, mouz decidated the pace.. Ellan was off. They throw crucial rounds.

I think it's really sad that MOUZ couldn't capitulize on El1an having a really poor match, that's actually kinda bad if you ask me, that's Entropiq playing with their best player really struggling. MOUZ made plenty of mistakes, but aimwise I think they will be allright even vs some Tier-1 teams, I think it's a well made squad when it comes roles, they just need experience together to build some structure, and a deep stratbook ofc., as you would expect from a team with NBK.

I understand why they add nbk but he was off on ct side mirage. He is underrated in terms of leading, calling and helping young ppl. Sure jks is way better than him individually, but nbk takes more team initiatives by the look of things. If things dont really evolve, maybe, they should keep dexter or nbk, but ppl underestimed leading figure. The teams who are struggling the most rn are heroic and gambit. The funny thing is their players are mostly young and don't have much experience in lan

I actually think that if you compare how jks was playing in coL and how NBK- played in DBL PONEY you will find a lot of similarities. Also I wouldn't call Gambit struggling, they made the playoffs in Katowice losing in QF vs eventual winners, they won FunSpark, came 2nd in BLAST, their results are better than their game shows I feel like.

It's been almost three weeks since their last game at Katowice, there is no point in staying in Europe for so long unless the organisation provided them bootcamp in Czech Republic. But yeah, would be nice to hear about that from the players

I would rather promote the igl of mouz nxt and keep nbk as the second or first caller. I agree with you. I think nbk bring more than dexter.

Mehh just go full young squad bymas siuhy torzsi frozen jdc and just don`t touch this line up for half a year-year at least! Dexter should go and be igl in mouzNXT or go back to Renegades smtnhg, rly don`t like him as igl and nbk as player.

I prefer if they keep one of them (dexter or nbk). The team is lacking too much of experience to let all their veterans.

-25 against vitality and -8 against faze, JDC was really struggling at the end of the last event. I'm not saying JDC is bad, but he was stand-in, no pressure and play gimmick style of cs. It is not always working. Bymas was not that bad on the last matches. NBK is struggling and Dexter is really struggling. They should keep just one of them and promote Xertion.
