GODSENT secure first Pro League win over Party Astronauts

Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo's side now hold a 1-2 record heading into their fourth match of the event.

GODSENT have claimed their first victory of ESL Pro League Season 15 after battering Party Astronauts in a two-map series, with the Brazilian side redeeming themselves after they got off to a slow start with losses to Movistar Riders and Liquid in their first two matches.

The victory was one that GODSENT sorely needed if they hoped to have a solid shot at qualifying for the playoffs, although the situation still looks dire for them as they will face BIG and Players in their remaining matches. For Party Astronauts, the loss comes as a crushing blow as they now reside at the bottom of Group C with an 0-3 record, and have almost no chance left to make it through to the playoffs short of a miraculous run of results across the group.

TACO was unstoppable on Nuke, posting a 2.22 rating on the CT side

The Brazilian team hit the ground running on Nuke, mounting a monumental defense in the first half courtesy of a stellar individual showing from TACO. Party Astronauts looked entirely outclassed as GODSENT put up a dominant 13-2 lead at the end of their CT side effort, and despite a brief comeback effort from Ben "⁠ben1337⁠" Smith's side in the second half, the map was quickly wrapped up by GODSENT 16-9 as they moved the series on to Ancient.

The situation didn't improve for the North American squad on map two as GODSENT remained in control for most of the map, an early lead helmed by Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles giving way to a strong rifling performance from Bruno "⁠b4rtiN⁠" Câmara. Party Astronauts kept the scoreline closer at halftime this time around, garnering six rounds, but capitulated after the side swap as they were only able to add two more rounds to their tally before TACO and company closed things out to bring things to a swift end.

Any team that loses to GODSENT at the moment is pure garbage. Dont think they can secure any more wins.. they have to fix their roles, they need time, they just lost their STAR player and swapped him for a passive player. Maybe they get lucky and improve during the matches, but that is almost impossible. Let's go GODSENT.

Godsent has been promising but still need to get to the next level wining this match was a must ch and nothing to be proud of. Still a good game to pad stats. As for PA just NA CS. As individuals their levels was pretty bad and their prep seemed weak when against even a team like Godsent. ben1337 remains a absolutly crapshow firepower wise. Reminds me of God Hunden with none of the leadership skills.

Taco had a nutty map before heading back to the bottom of the scoreboard I dunno how much you can blame ben, I mean, he's got a retired player on his team who was known for being terrible on LAN. I feel like NA players need to join international rosters to have any chance of getting anywhere, the NA scene just doesn't have enough domestic competition to improve everyone there. NA is slowly turning into AUS/Asia where one or two teams rule the roost while the rest never get near

GODSENT is a decent team, but man, firepower-wise they are no where near the TOP, I really feel like they know how to play the game and they have some nice strats, but really, when it comes to fighting with players from Tier-1 those guys just can't win their duels, there is still 3 young players maybe they can develop, but I feel like this GODSENT team will be stuck at this level. Party Astronauts is playing with a stand-in so we can't really rate them as a team, but they're showing some nice individual signs, Jonji is straight up a mad man with the way he plays, I like to watch it, maybe with full 5 they can achieve something, who knows, GL in the future.
