Heroic secure ESL Pro League playoff spot, AGO out of contention

The Danes got the job done in two quick maps to secure a playoff berth ahead of the final Group D match day.

HEROIC continue their undefeated ESL Pro League Group D run with a 2-0 victory over AGO, making their record 4-0 ahead of the final match day of the group stage, where the Danes will fight Natus Vincere, potentially for the top seed in the group.

AGO on the other hand are now out of playoff contention, as their sole victory against Complexity puts them below third-placed Astralis going into the final match day, a team the Poles lost to 0-2 on Friday.

In a three-way tie situation with the two aforementioned sides, AGO would still be out due to their 2-3 head-to-head map record, as if all three teams end with two wins it would come down to the map count on the Astralis vs. Complexity match. If the North Americans win, they would go through with a 2-0, but would not with a 2-1, which would see the Danes through.

Heroic have locked in a top three finish with a chance at the top seed

Four kills by Łukasz "mwlky" Pachucki in the pistol round got AGO off to a good start on Vertigo as they had a 3-1 lead by the fourth round, but that’s about as far as they’d go as HEROIC took control on the defense to hit double digits in what ended up being a one-sided 11-4 half.

After a solid half it didn’t take the Danish squad long to seal the deal after winning the pistol round on the attack with Casper "cadiaN" Møller and Rasmus "sjuush" Beck tallying 21 frags each in a team effort that ended with them winning 16-7.

HEROIC didn’t let their eyes off the prize starting on the CT side of Nuke after a questionable decision by AGO to go into their rivals’ pick on the attack and the Danes didn’t forgive, getting off to a 6-0 lead in an even more devastating first half than that of Vertigo, as it ended 12-3.

AGO couldn’t win the compulsory pistol on the CT side to start a comeback and quickly withered as the Scandinavian team ran away with a 16-3 victory to secure their presence in the next stage of ESL Pro League Season 15.

I agree, but most matches of teams from the same region with each other are random. Seriously, I don't believe in EG at all, but somehow they can beat the Complexity

Honestly it's kind of hard to say... Heroic are definitely better at dismantling teams but the opponents were just simply outgunned and outclassed, whereas with Na'Vi, it's a whole different kettle of fish, so that's different. Na'Vi look way more comfortable in their home environment back on LAN but that game against AGO was something else...

This is true but in all honesty, I think that makes the match have higher stakes, as it defines who can truly beat who in a LAN environment with no pressure on either team.
