Wins for the favourites so far in EU RMR round one

It was a comfortable morning's work for the tier-one teams in Bucharest.

There were no upsets to be found in the first round of games in the EU RMR A, with Natus Vincere, HEROIC, FaZe and Outsiders all taking relatively comfortable victories to move on to the 1-0 pool.

Natus Vincere had the toughest time of the lot against by far the lowest ranked team in the RMR in the form of the Far East Russia qualifier winners QUAZAR, with the Russian squad threatening to make a comeback on the CT side of Ancient.

Natus Vincere had put up a 10-5 CT half before winning the second-half pistol and converting to take the score to 13-5, when QUAZAR managed to pick up seven of the next eight rounds to make the CIS giants sweat just a little bit. Eventually the reigning Major champions did close the game out 16-12, and realistically the score flattered the underdogs somewhat.

Outsiders made the quickest work of their opposition, crushing Unique 16-2 on Dust2. Everyone had a field day on the Outsiders squad but Aleksei "⁠Qikert⁠" Golubev posted the most impressive stats, picking up 135 ADR and 23 frags on his way to a 2.08 rating.

HEROIC recovered from their recent disappointing exit at ESL Pro League to put FORZE to bed, defeating the Russian squad 16-9 on Overpass. A major issue for FORZE was the woeful performance of their star AWPer Aleksandr "⁠zorte⁠" Zagodyrenko, whilst René "⁠TeSeS⁠" Madsen was a powerful presence for the Danes, posting 27 kills and a 1.69 rating.

In the final game of round one the newly-minted best team in the world, FaZe, crushed fan favourites Eternal Fire in a one-sided Overpass game. The Turkish squad struggled to get anything going on their T side, finding precious few openings until later in the half, and once they lost their CT pistol the result was a foregone conclusion.
