First round of matches ends with OG getting the better of MOUZ

Vitality, fnatic, BIG and OG win their first games in the first round of the Swiss system.

Round 1 of the Europe RMR has concluded, as the 16 teams started their battle for the eight available spots at the Antwerp Major. Teams are now being divided into the 1-0 and 0-1 pools for the next rounds of play, which is starting today at 16:00 .

The second half of the first round of matches had some fairly lopsided games, with favorites prevailing in the games without much trouble. Considering the first half of the games also didn't have any upsets, we are set to have a very stacked and interesting second round of play, for which the matchups have just been released.

nexa's OG was able to win the European derby against MOUZ

The first two games saw the struggling Vitality team face off against Dignitas, where Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut was able to give us a performance worthy of his reputation, helping his team get a 16-6 win on Nuke.

Elsewhere, it was another AWPer dominating the server, as Valentin "⁠poizon⁠" Vasilev achieved a 1.99 rating on Nuke against GamerLegion, helping his fnatic team win 16-5 and put their name in the 1-0 pool for the next round.

The last two matches of the round saw MOUZ facing off against OG in the derby of the first round. In what was the closest game in terms of ranking, OG were able to win quite comfortably, winning their Mirage CT side 10-5 and keeping a healthy round advantage throughout the rest of the map, in the end winning 16-12.

Meanwhile, BIG dispatched of SAW in a 16-5 drubbing on Ancient, where Florian "⁠syrsoN⁠" Rische showed a star player performance, averaging 104 damage per round.

Next up is round 2 of matches, where all the teams will play another BO1 game today.
