G2, Entropiq fall in opening matches at Europe RMR

The second European RMR group begins with a couple of big upsets.

It's only the first round of the second Major-qualifying event in Europe and we have already witnessed a few massive upsets after the first four matches have been played.

Ninjas in Pyjamas were the only favorites on paper to win their first match so far, as their newest member, Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin, was firing on all cylinders in his debut for the Swedish squad, helping his team brush Endpoint aside 16-8 on Ancient.

The highest-seeded team in the tournament and the second-highest-ranked side, G2, suffered a tough loss at the hands of Polish squad Anonymo, who came into the event as one of the biggest underdogs and took down the giants around Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač in a closely-contested Mirage affair.

Bad News Eagles had juanflatroo firing on all cylinders against Entropiq

After getting off to a good start, Paweł "⁠innocent⁠" Mocek and company looked outmatched by the IEM Katowice runners-up, but the Poles came back from a 10-14 deficit on the CT side to win the first match in overtime, with the 28-year-old veteran himself leading the way with 36 kills.

In another match that went the full distance, Bad News Eagles surprised Entropiq with a strong defensive showing on Dust2, winning the opener 19-17 as Flatron "⁠juanflatroo⁠" Halimi and Rigon "⁠rigoN⁠" Gashi put up impressive performances.

In one of the more even matchups between two open qualifier teams HEET and SINNERS, the Czech squad came out on top 16-11 on Vertigo after a strong showing on the Terrorist side.

I've been following BNE's core passively for a while since they first popped onto the scene, I'm so happy they are putting this together!! Rooting for them to make it to the Major.

I was one of the many people who thought that team with anarkez (I think they called it m1x in the article about BNE) were sketchy af and thought they were cheating, but when I realized that I was wrong it gave me a lot of respect for them. It's nice to see they are performing on such a stage now, and let's hope they can make it to the even bigger stage of the Major itself.
