FURIA secure playoff spot over Cloud9, Vitality send MOUZ home

MOUZ's journey in Texas has come to an end following their second defeat at the event.

FURIA have secured a spot in the knockout stages of IEM Dallas 2022 after a sweep of Cloud9 in the upper bracket semi-final of Group B. The Brazilians are now one series away from potentially gaining a bye straight to the semi-finals, facing the winner of BIG vs MIBR on Thursday. Cloud9 are not yet eliminated, but will have to face Ninjas in Pyjamas in the lower bracket to survive.

Meanwhile, the French-Danish mix of Vitality took on MOUZ for tournament survival in the lower bracket of Group A. After a close affair on Inferno (16-14), Dan "apEX" Madesclaire's men were quick to close out the series on Mirage (16-7), eliminating the European squad to qualify for the lower bracket final.

yuurih gave us a great performance on Mirage

Cloud9 were unable to show their best form on Vertigo against FURIA, and the Brazilians quickly dragged them out of their comfort zone in classic fashion with Andrei "arT" Piovezan doing all the things that arT loves to do. Rafael "saffee" Costa provided another top performance on the skyscraper, finishing the CT side with a 20-7 K-D and a 1.74 rating, propelling his squad to a 10-5 half. Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov tried his best to contain the South Americans after switching sides as the Russian squad closed the gap to just 9-12, but they would never complete the comeback. FURIA closed the map 16-9 before moving to Mirage.

Cloud9 gave us a much closer contest on the second map, but it would not be enough to guarantee survival. Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov was a key component of the Russians' defense against the Brazilians on Mirage and helped his squad to limit the deficit to just 7-8 going into the second half. On the CT side, FURIA quickly re-established themselves as the favorites, surviving a late Cloud9 resurgence to close their pick 16-13 thanks to a great performance by Yuri "yuurih" Santos.

MOUZ and Vitality kickstarted the second series with a very close half on the European's pick of Inferno. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and Jon "JDC" de Castro really stood out above the rest on the server, with both players exchanging moments of brilliance, but it is also worth noting a couple of rounds won by Christopher "dexter" Nong while probing the B site. MOUZ eventually claimed a narrow 8-7 lead thanks to a fantastic triple kill by JDC in mid.

After converting the second pistol, dexter's boys secured a comfortable 11-6 lead on the CT side. Unfortunately for them, once the Vitality rifles came out, the offense was able to get going. Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen joined ZywOo at the top of the scoreboard after switching to the T side, helping the French-Danish squad string eight consecutive rounds on their way to a 16-14 victory.

Vitality gave us another solid offensive streak on Mirage, quickly setting the pace on their map pick with a series of solid T rounds. Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier and Emil "Magisk" Reif played a great half, leading their squad to a stable 11-4 lead going into halftime. MOUZ would only claim the pistol and the following two rounds before their opponents were able to lock down the CT side and swiftly secure the victory with a 16-7 scoreline.

Well gambit has always had a good vertigo as well, not that unexpected tbf, sometimes just playing what you are good at is the way, instead of trying to exploit the enemy's theoretical weakness that could end up as a surprise futtbuck if they did some secret preparing.

Nah, FURIA is clear top4 material but they keep having weird matches where they just crumble mentally as a team and choke away huge leads, which is kind of a new and unexpected problem they've been facing lately(and historically they've never been chokers so this is extra weird) I'm betting FURIA will at least make GrandFinals on this tournament and skyrocket to HLTV top4 since they are just a few points away from all other teams above them besides FaZe

Kscerato is being exposed as the "Farsa Gaulesa" that he is, at least we have Saffee now to help Yuurih and arT. Kscerato cannot farm NA stats forever.

Yuurih is a much better player than Baiterato. Just like Fer was better than Baitzera in 2017.

Fer x Cold comparasion is not fair because of ROLES, Cold was there to do it all and fer used to play to make space for him Kscerato and Yuurih both have the same roles in game so you should not compare Kscerato and yuurih to cold and fer fer actually was better than cold, but cold's role was far more kill awarding

Kscerato's role is also more kill awarding. He is a less passive Coldzera.

don't talk nonsense kscerato is an excellent player, in my opinion if they put a top player in place of drop then he could reach the top 3

He is a good player, but super overrated. Yuurih is way better but less hype from the scene.

God damn. Hard to be a mouz fan these days - literally not a single T1 grade player left on that team. Time to make it the mouz Backademy and get a new roster.

Yea😂😂😂 but to be fair, I didn't expect a win VS vitality. Mouz always lose vs them. But why there is always a player who had a bad day when they have a chance to win? Yesterday bymas had a tough game in k/d, who played very well the day before. Before jdc had often not much kills but played yesterday very well. They switching the support role or why? Mouz is not a top 10 team anymore but top 20 with many young players. I hope they can come back before they change the roster.
