ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference set to start Thursday

Get up to date with the teams, format and talent at the four-day event held in Jönköping, Sweden.

ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference, running from June 16-20, is set to kick off on Thursday and will be played in a LAN setting over in Jönköping, Sweden during the DreamHack Summer festival.

The tournament features 16 teams from different regional qualifiers who will hope to secure one of the six available spots at ESL Pro League Season 16. There were two NA spots available (ESEA S39 and S40), Extra Salt won S39 and the spot went to paiN then Strife, MIBR won S40

due to how poorly timed anz champs/ the old esea premier in australia is, its less frequent then the eu/na versions so renegades (now order) won season 39 so they qualified Encore won season 40 (renegades missed out as they were playing in the major at the same time. awful scheduling) and then the most recent anz champs: Renegades won but theyd already qualified so the spot went down to Vertex who were runners up (LFO/Encore had to miss this as they were playing in pro league) sums up the awful scheduling which is now AUCS

Imo HEET > Endpoint Endpoint should no be prepared enough yet to win against a team such as HEET which has been constantly top 20-30 since 7-8 month. They can surprise them but it's more linely HEET who should take the W.

Joke tournament. One slot only for EU ESEA Premier/ESL Challenger, but also one slot for 3rd best German team, spot in play-in for this tournament for best Swiss team or best Benelux team. And Australia have more spots than teams without ESL National leagues... Such a joke.

Current Challenger League looks more stacked than this tournament due to how awful scheduling is with those lower tier ESL tourneys. Most spots were passed down the line due to roster changes/disbands. or a team winning more than one qualifier tournament. The fact that some teams qualified over a half a year ago says a lot. But it's a transitional season between the old and a new format of former DH Open/ESEA Premier and now the Challenger circuit so we'll see.
