Vitality through to playoffs over paiN

The Brazilians end their tournament campaign with a last-place finish after losses to FaZe and Vitality.

Vitality, following yesterday's defeat to G2, have defeated the Brazilians of paiN in a three map series. They first won on Nuke off the back of a commanding CT side, limiting their opponents to just three rounds, and then moved the series to Dust2, where the Brazilians got an impressive upset. Overpass was the decider, where it was another straightforward win for the favorites.

The French-Danish team now move on to the quarter-finals, where they will be facing the loser of the game between OG and ENCE. paiN are now eliminated and will hope that the tournament will provide their team with some much needed experience at the biggest events.

ZywOo's Vitality team qualify for the playoffs

The series started off on Nuke, where Vitality were quick to justify their favorites tag, racing to a 7-0 lead before their opponents had time to strike back. paiN managed to get a few decent rounds following that, but only managed three before Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier's ace made the scoreline 12-3 at the half.

As paiN moved on to the CT side, the pistol round was a must win. A fast descent to the lower site by Vitality proved too much for the Brazilians to handle however, as they went 14-3 down before getting a buy round. They squandered their one and only real chance on their defensive side, losing the game 16-3.

Dust2 began with Vitality winning the pistol round and looking to continue their good form from Nuke. The Brazilians looked much more comfortable on this map, as they won eight out of the next nine rounds, going up 8-4 and guaranteeing themselves a lead at half time, as Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt rotations proved crucial to his team's success. The Dan "apEX" Madesclaire led team did get a few rounds of their own at the end of the half, which finished 8-7.

A CT pistol for Vitality evened up the scores at 8-8 and the scores remained close for the remaining few rounds, before Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato clutched a 1v2 situation and put his team 12-10 up, also managing to break the economy of Vitality in the process. paiN followed that up with four straight rounds, getting themselves up to map point. They required three tries at closing out the game, eventually succeeding and moving the series onto the decider of Overpass.

paiN won the pistol on the final map and converted it to a 3-0 lead, but then struggled to find inroads into the Vitality defense, getting just one more round in the half that ended 11-4, with Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen finally getting into the game on the last map.

A T side pistol round for the Dan "apEX" Madesclaire led team got them a ten round lead, and finishing out the game was a mere formality, as they booked their place in the quarter-final.

No doubt! But do you want a wild stat? Vitality hasn't won a series against a top 10 team since BLAST Spring Groups

Na/Br teams need to realise that the Nuke they play in NA is on a different level of what is played in EU, its sucks because its a region difference as you cant get a proper practice in this map in NA but its the reality...

The only thing good about pain getting this spot is that they played some bootcamp before the tournament . The tournament by itself would be more useful for Furia.
