Astralis through to Roobet Cup playoffs over Complexity

Complexity are now eliminated after another underwhelming tournament.

Astralis have qualified to the quarter-finals of the Roobet Cup after advancing through Group B in second place. They won the decider match against Complexity, but not without trouble, as they lost their own map pick of Overpass in an otherwise convincing 2-1 win. The Danes will now move on to play in the quarter-final against one of the teams that placed first in the other three groups.

For Complexity, who got to this stage in the tournament after Movistar Riders forfeited their match due to scheduling conflicts and gave the North Americans a free pass to the decider game, this is another setback in what has been a disappointing season. Their last win happened almost two months ago — and even that was a close best-of-one victory against IHC.

gla1ve had an impressive individual performance

Complexity decided to pick Inferno in the series, which is a map their Danish opponents don't play often — their last official game on the map was almost two months ago. The North American team started off strong, winning the forcebuy after losing the pistol round and going into a 2-1 lead. A stack on the B site with just unarmored pistol proved successful for Astralis however, and that completely changed the game, as Complexity won just one more round in the half that finished 12-3. Asger "Farlig" Jensen had a good performance on the AWP, getting his team out of a couple sticky situations in the first half.

Complexity were once again able to get a good start to the half, winning the pistol and converting the next, but as soon as Astralis got to a gun round they didn't lose a single round, winning Inferno 16-4.

The second map was Overpass, the pick of the Danes. Astralis won the pistol round and kept an advantage throughout the first few rounds, but as the score reached 5-3, Complexity shifted into a higher gear. They won seven rounds in a row with some aggressive pushes on the CT side, including an ace by Ricky "floppy" Kemery, that their opponents simply weren't ready for.

With a 10-5 lead at the interval, a pistol round win for the North Americans meant they were 12-5 up in no time. A lackluster couple of rounds followed as Astralis got within two round of their opponents, but Michael "Grim" Wince's 1v2 clutch gave his team a second win, as they closed out the map 16-11 and moved the series to Nuke.

Nuke started off in Astralis's favor, as they started on the T side and went 5-1 up. The Danes kept the lead for the entire half, with Asger "Farlig" Jensen's 1v2 clutch putting the scores at 8-4, before a late flurry of rounds by the North American side made the scoreline 8-7.

Astralis won the second pistol and looked comfortable on the defensive side, dropping just two rounds on their way to the match win. Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth's clutch put them on match point, and they closed out the map in two attempts, booking their playoff place in the process.

Xyp with 1.20 rating over a BO3 vs Konfig with 0.87. You all asking for Xyp`s head can piss off when Konfig is clearly is the biggest issue for Astralis for some time now. Always been an inconsistent fragger with rare impact

+1 this has been something people don't even look at how can xyp outperform konfig when any given day it has to be the other way around

i am not convinced. the only thing on the positive note, is that farlig is performing better and seems to be more in sync with the rest. konfig and xyp really have to get their shit together.

there are signs of insecurity in his playstyle. but i do see a more aggresive farlig now with more confidence, than in the beginning. and that gives me hope for the future.

They prob saw degster in OG and since farlig is aggressive they are trying to do that , but he really isnt a decent passive awper

COL: -JT + AZR (or any decent IGL) -junior +wolfyy (degster? i doubt that) -fang + any solid rifler, he is not good enough vs T1/2 teams. jks back with azr would be cool, but not gonna happen i guess.. You can skip fang change for now, but would be better to happen at once.

Impressive win for Astralis, Col is a not good team but considering they played against 4 stack Astralis without their very consistent and always ready to perform player konfig making it to the server it is a great win for Astralis.
