hampus: "We're showing off what we're capable of, and we'll just keep going"

The Ninjas in Pyjamas captain shared a few thoughts about his team in a post-match interview on the IEM Cologne broadcast.

Hampus "⁠hampus⁠" Poser was instrumental in his team's 2-0 opening victory over HEROIC at IEM Cologne, bringing both firepower and leadership, and afterwards sat down with Eefje "⁠sjokz⁠" Depoortere and Mathieu "⁠Maniac⁠" Quiquerez for the post-match interview.

The Swede mentioned early in the interview that the transition back into active play after being sidelined for the past couple of events wasn't all too challenging. "It wasn't really that hard to be honest," he said, "I'm a fast learner and I spoke to djL even when I was not playing, he kept me in the loop."

hampus also didn't shy away from praising fellow teammate Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen and the Dane's growth during his time with the team. "In the beginning it was a bit rough, but as you saw at the Major he really showed everyone what he's capable of and we just keep hyping him up, giving him confidence. I think he's working the hardest in our team, and I think it shows."

Not everything has been easygoing for Ninjas in Pyjamas throughout the year, however, with roster shakeups in Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz's absence along with having to field multiple stand-ins at different tournaments. The 23-year-old shared affirmation about how his team will perform moving forward, as they are finally experiencing some roster stability after months of turbulence.

"I think we can break through for sure, we had some chaotic times, switched players a lot, and we kind of always made the playoffs so now when we have this stable lineup for a while I think, as you saw at the Major, we only lost to Natus Vincere and FaZe who we played in the quarter-final and we lost 1-2 to both of them, so maybe we should have just a lucky bracket a little bit.

"Right now, we beat HEROIC and they're a really good team as well, so I think we're showing off what we're capable of and we will just keep going."

Ninjas in Pyjamas's next challenge will be in Group A's upper bracket semi-final, against the winner of Natus Vincere and MOUZ's quarter-final group stage match.
