Vitality spoiled Abdul "degster" Gasanov's LAN debut since signing with OG and move on to the upper bracket final.
BLAST Premier Fall Groups kicked off with an opening Group A matchup between Vitality and OG, which saw the debut of Lotan "Spinx" Giladi for Vitality and degster's LAN debut with OG since becoming a full-fledged member of the squad. The match was a close one early on, but in the end it was Vitality who emerged victorious over OG, 16-11 on Dust2.
Vitality now proceed to their group's upper bracket final, where they will face off against either Ninjas in Pyjamas or Astralis for a spot in the Group A final. Meanwhile, OG find themselves in the lower bracket final where they await the loser of the second Group A match to determine their opponent.
Vitality opened the scoring with a quick 2-0 advantage before OG's fast-paced play allowed Nemanja "nexa" Isaković's squad to constantly find the bomb site to get a 4-2 lead. Dan "apEX" Madesclaire's side strengthened their defenses and took back control of the map by scoring five unanswered, highlighted by a 1vs2 retake by Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen in the 11th round. A shift to a more calm and collected offense, accompanied by Vitality's economic struggles, allowed OG to secure three of the last four rounds to trail by only one at the switch.
Vitality came out of half-time swinging and took five consecutive rounds to amass a 13-7 lead over nexa's men. OG struggled as the defenders and although they managed to take a round back in the 21st, they had no answer for Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut — the top-rated player in the series — and his team's attacking prowess. Vitality clinched map point at 15-8. OG put up a valiant effort and attempted a comeback, but the deficit proved to be insurmountable as Vitality closed out the map 16-11.
