Astralis bounce back with victory over OG in BLAST Fall groups

Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer came back stronger against the European mix after a poor opening match.

Astralis will continue their run in the lower bracket after their 16-9 victory over OG on Mirage. The Danish squad earned their right for a rematch against Ninjas in Pyjamas and will challenge the Swedes for a chance to reach Group A's final.

Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković's men are in the worst possible position if they are to reach Fall Finals, starting from the very bottom of the gauntlet phase. They could also make it through the Last Chance bracket, but they'll have to secure at least one best-of-three victory in the next stage.

Astralis started off Mirage with a dominant performance on the CT side. The Danes gave away very little after converting the opening pistol as OG struggled to break into the bombsites. Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke and blameF to impressed the most as the duo recovered from a very poor performance in their opening match of the tournament. nexa's men only stole a few sporadic rounds before going into the second half with a 3-12 deficit.

OG played a much better CT, taking the second pistol and the next two rounds, but slowed down significantly after the Danish rifles were brought out. Despite Abdul "⁠degster⁠" Gasanov powering the squad to an 8-13 recovery, the Europeans were unable to keep up the challenge, and Astralis closed the map 16-9 with a hit on the A bombsite.

blameF stepped up massively against the European squad as he recorded a 1.69 rating and a 25-16 K-D. The Danish rifler started off the tournament with a quiet performance against Ninjas in Pyjamas, but will now get the chance to make up for it against the Swedes later on Friday.
