The third open qualifier for the IEM Rio Europe RMR has closed its second day of action with B8, Sangal, Eternal Fire, and FANTASY all punching their tickets to Malta after victories in their respective quarter-finals.

There is still one more spot from the third RMR qualifier to be claimed from the fifth place decider. HEET, Entropiq, los kogutos, and ECSTATIC will all participate in the bracket to secure the last spot available after losing in the seventh round of the qualifier.

A few high-profile teams were eliminated on the second day of the qualifier, including Finest and SINNERS; however, the most notable ones were Astralis and Movistar Riders, who were eliminated by los kogutos and B8 respectively despite being the two highest-ranked teams in the fifth round.

The Ukrainian squad did not slow down after taking down the Spaniards, proceeding to beat AVANGAR ahead of their quarter-final match against HEET. There, B8 came out on top following two 16-14 maps to edge out the Frenchmen and secure their presence at the RMR. Arseniy "⁠cptkurtka023⁠" Derevinskiy was the difference-maker on Inferno as he finished with a 1.64 rating.

Astralis, Movistar Riders eliminated from IEM Road to Rio Europe Open Qualifier 3

los kogutos followed their victory over Astralis with a win against RCL before coming across FANTASY in the seventh round of the online qualifier. Martin "⁠maaryy⁠" Nakonieczny's squad's failure to organize a defense on Nuke cost them a potential 2-0 win and they eventually conceded the series to the European mix on Overpass.

Sangal beat the likes of Budapest Five and Sashi on their way to the qualification match, with Entropiq supposed to be their most difficult test yet. The European team cruised on Inferno before taking a close win on Mirage to sweep a squad ranked 52 places ahead of them.

The second day of the qualifier ended with Eternal Fire versus ECSTATIC. The new-look Danish squad came out on top of a double-overtime affair on their pick of Vertigo before being reverse swept by MAJ3R's men with wins on Dust2 and Nuke, securing the Turkish team's spot at their second-ever RMR.

The rounds of 32 should be bo3 but not the whole qualifier. Instead of 4 qualifiers, they could make it three but more teams who can qualify. Honestly, if a team like ef can pass that, why astralis cannot.

For me it doesn't matter if a strong team like Astralis or MR don't qualify, but I look at some of these teams coming through this rmr and be like "Who tf are these guys? Are they really going to compete in a Lan environment with a chance to go to the Major"? "

But at the same time, where is bad news eagle rn ? They had a good run into the qualifier + the RMR. It happens more often than you think. It is random, but at least, he gives chance to other players/teams. Honestly, the Astralis game was a puggy team vs a puggy professional team. And those qualifiers always existed. Some T1 won't do better on those types of environnement, but they lived in a bubble (Specially teams like Liquid, Astralis who haven't play online qualifier very often).

Why are you generalizing? How wise to throw the do of 100-200 people on the whole nation :D fnatic wanted to play the match on another server and EF had high ping on that server. But the match was played because fnatic wanted it like that. That's why everyone hated them. After this incident EF prevented them from going to major. (In RMR-LAN tournament)

i havent said that every Turkish fan is like that. There are just some known countries that send negative shit to opposite team when their team loses. Turkey, Finland, Brazil etc.
