OG take down Astralis, qualify for BLAST Fall Final
OG are the first team through to the BLAST Premier Fall Final in November.
OG claim their spot at the BLAST Premier Fall Final after defeating Astralis, 2-0. On both Ancient and Mirage the Nemanja "nexa" Isaković-led squad fended off the Danes' attempts at a comeback and took 16-12 victories to wrap up the series.
Shahar "flameZ" Shushan and Abdul "degster" Gasanov were OG's standout players throughout the series as their fragging ability helped their team win crucial rounds. The pair finished with the series' two highest ratings in 1.35 and 1.28, respectively. Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke meanwhile struggled to make an impact on Ancient. The Dane only picked up ten kills and a dismal 0.59 rating on his statistically-best map.
Astralis' loss sends them to the Last Chance Stage, where they must win a best-of-three against FaZe to qualify for the Fall Final and avoid the Showdown gauntlet. The Danish side has another big task ahead today, though, as they play the IEM Road to Rio EU Open Qualifier starting at 18:00 .
This is the last opportunity for Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander's men to qualify for the Europe RMR in October, having already squandered three chances, with another failure meaning that they would miss out on the IEM Rio Major altogether. In that case, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth would also lose his record of attending every CS:GO Major, one he currently shares with Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Richard "shox" Papillon.

It was a back-and-forth affair from the get go on Ancient, as both Astralis and OG exchanged runs to grab the lead for themselves. gla1ve's squad looked poised to close out the half convincingly, but OG converted a crucial eco-round in the 13th thanks to Maciej "F1KU" Miklas's triple-kill to stop the Danes' momentum.
A 1vs3 clutch from nexa gave OG the narrow 8-7 lead entering the switch. Coming out of the break, OG demonstrated lockdown defense to increase their advantage to 12-7. Astralis had a resurgence and levelled the game at 12 apiece, but in the end OG were able to deny the comeback and take home Ancient 16-12.
Just like on Ancient, both sides were almost inseparable at the end of the first half as OG secured the last two rounds and headed into the break up 8-7. In the second half, OG took control early and Astralis would fight back to reduce their deficit to one at 12-13. Ultimately, OG would deny the Danes' comeback attempt a second time and wrap up the map 16-12 and the series 2-0.
