BIG secure first Pro League victory with commanding performance on decider vs MIBR

The Germans were untouchable on Dust2 and secured a 16-1 win after the first two maps went the distance.

BIG claimed their first ESL Pro League Season 16 win over MIBR. The Germans took home an extremely close Vertigo 16-14, dropped Nuke 14-16, and dominated on Dust2 for a 16-1 victory. BIG's triumph also means that G2, who currently hold a 3-0 record in Group B, have clinched a spot in the playoffs.

MIBR's fate in the tournament now rest with FaZe, who can save the Brazilians from elimination should they defeat Outsiders later at 20:30 . Jhonatan "⁠JOTA⁠" Willian and company's only chances at a playoff spot is either a three-way tie with BIG and Outsiders, or just a tie with Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali's team.

The Brazilians kicked things off with a swift 4-0 lead, attaining success from their mid to late-round pushes. MIBR held an advantageous 3vs2 situation in the eighth round, however technical difficulties on Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles' side gave BIG an opening to increase their tally to three. Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz's crew dominated from that point on and entered the break up 10-5.

BIG started to claw their way back into the game and eventually brought themselves within arm's reach of the Brazilians' advantage at 12-14. The Germans' comeback wasn't meant to be, however, as JOTA's squad hit map point at 15-12 and closed out Nuke in the final round of regulation to force a decider on Dust2.

BIG completely obliterated MIBR on Dust2 as they cruised to a 16-1 win to wrap up the series. The Brazilians looked lost during most of the rounds and were unable to replicate their intensity from the first two maps. tabseN led in both shotcalling and fragging as he topped the scoreboard with a 22-5 K-D and 2.07 rating.

tabseN and Florian "⁠syrsoN⁠" Rische both finished with the highest ratings of the series at 1.26. The German captain controlled the final map through his mid presence and exceptional utility usage, while the 26-year-old consistently hit round-defining shots with his sniper rifle.
