paN joins n!faculty for EM clash

Team Alternate player Benjamin "paN" von Mulert has linked up with n!faculty for the Extreme Masters relegation tie with Power Gaming.

Power Gaming originally won the match, but the ESL ruled it must be replayed as one of the Finnish players had net_graph on, which is a violation of the competition's rules.

Von Mulert, who has been with Alternate for three years, has joined n!faculty's Extreme Masters account ahead of the decisive match, which is due to be replayed tomorrow, January 6.

It is still unknown whose shoes he will fill, but it is believed it will be Jérôme "shiddy" Tóth's after the Hungarian star voiced his wish to retire from gaming during the EPS Finals.

Contacted by HLTV.org, Alternate manager Johannes "siGGe" Sick noted this is only a temporary move as von Mulert is still under a contract with the team.

replaying a match because of net_graph, that is a hell of a gift for n!faculty.

It is not, because sometimes when a player is near you behind a wall or something, the amount of information you receive increases one hell of a lot, and that can be seen by the player by using net_graph.

I think it works fine. But you can't distinguish between mates and enemies. But when absolutly nobody is near, you can safely push the half map until your "in" value goes up. For me, the value varies from 5kb = no risk to 7kb = attention and 9kb = punchfest

I hope PG wins, I'd feel terribly sorry for them if they'd lose due to someone using net_graph.

It's net_graph 3(I think), that's forbidden. Because you can see when an enemy approaches or something like that. Never tried it.

no. the esl rules state that any other value for "net_graph" than "0" is a violation and will be punished. stupid rule imo, but necessary to ban the ones using this "advantage"

someone from mym didnt upload aequitas, and 2 other minors incidents i didnt even remember, what im trying yo say its that esl isnt fair with all the teams... he clearly favoured top teams and german teams... and not just internationally, in each country the esl favoured always the top team of that country.

maybe the most teams aren't versant with the rulebook and so they don't really know to protest the match. In contrast to the german teams who play every week and were rulechanges spread like wildfire

Can someone define how you could "see" someone using net_graph? Is it like a wall glitch or something?
