Kjaerbye released from Endpoint

The Danish rifler has had to step away from the squad for personal reasons.

Markus "⁠Kjaerbye⁠" Kjærbye is leaving Endpoint after just over four months with the team, with the organisation stating that it is an "amicable agreement."

As part of their statement, the organisation also said that the Dane "is going through some things in his personal life that he needs to attend to and therefore feels he currently cannot deliver the top performance level a pro CS player should deliver."

Kjaerbye joined Endpoint in June two months after coming out of retirement, filling the gap left by Mohammad "⁠BOROS⁠" Malhas after the Jordanian placed himself on the bench.

His retirement had come because he no longer had "the hunger and determination it requires to compete on top level," however that situation had apparently changed by this year, with the Dane giving Dexerto an interview stating he had rediscovered his love for the game.

Endpoint was Kjaerbye's first foray into professional Counter-Strike for nearly a year, having last played in mid-2021 with HYENAS. He joined at a time of change for Endpoint as they also signed a new coach in the form of Allan "⁠Rejin⁠" Petersen mere weeks prior.

The changes bore fruit as Endpoint arrested a slide in the HLTV rankings and began to climb, briefly reaching No. 24 in the world, but they were unable to kick on and surpass the organisations peak of No. 22, which they reached in 2021 with William "⁠mezii⁠" Merriman and Thomas "⁠Thomas⁠" Utting on the roster. They currently sit at No. 36.

Endpoint announce mhL signing

"I am very grateful that Endpoint gave me the chance to come back to the thing I love most: play pro CS," Kjaerbye said in a statement.

"The way Endpoint, my teammates and my coach Rejin welcomed me and supported me in my comeback has meant the world to me. I am sad it has to end now, but sometimes life takes unexpected turns and you simply have to follow that."

Adam Jessop, Endpoint's CEO, added: "It’s been great having Markus at Endpoint and we fully appreciate the professional experience and attitude he brought to the team. Though our time together was short, we achieved a lot together, most notably qualifying for ESL Pro League Season 16 and a memorable victory over Natus Vincere."

Endpoint have some time to search for a replacement as their next match listed on HLTV is not until November 15, when they are set to play in the ESL Challenger League Season 43.
