FalleN: "I'm planning to play one more year, but personally, I feel like I have to do other stuff in my life too"

The Brazilian veteran's future remains undecided for the time being.

The future of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's career is still up in the air despite having already talked about retirement in the past. In a post-match interview with Anastasija "Heccu" Tolmačeva following Imperial's elimination from the IEM Rio Major Challengers Stage, the 31-year-old explained that he wasn't sure whether or not he had his last dance just yet.

"I'm planning to play one more year, because when I wanted to create this team a lot of pieces were moved. And when I make commitments, I really want to live up to that," FalleN stated.

"But personally, I feel like I have to do other stuff in my life too. I'm getting too drained and with time, it is costing me more than it has value. CS, for me, has more value than anything in my life for 18 years, but it's getting to a point I wanna live for other stuff, I wanna live with my wife, see my family more, stay at home."

The Godfather of Brazilian Counter-Strike's future is still undecided

In a separate conversation on Alexandre "gAuLeS" Chiqueta' stream after their elimination match against Cloud9, FalleN also expressed that though he felt tired and there were times that he didn't want to play anymore, CS:GO is truly his passion and is what he can do the best. He also stated that it wasn't goodbye just yet and he would keep on going, but things would change by next year.

"It's not a goodbye from me, I'm still going to play a bit, and I'm going to change some things for next year. But that time is coming, and I'm very happy to see a new generation of players arriving" FalleN mentioned. "I wanted to thank you [the fans] from the bottom of my heart, I know that you guys are very grateful for what I've done, but without you guys I wouldn't be here, and gratitude is something mutual. I love you guys a lot."

I kinda wanted to see him supporting the new generation as a coach before he steps away from cs, I think it would be much better for Brazilian scene than another year competing as a player, but oh well I will support him anyways, it's fallen after all

Exactly what i was thinking. Fallen is such a legend. So much knowledge that he could share, would rather have him stepping down as a player to coach and maybe be able to win some tournaments instead of just playing for the sake of playing and slowly lose that godlike player status. He's way past his peak, still enjoyable to watch him play and call but not the same level individually, and not what i want to remember of fallen as a player.

I believe in Fallen. GOAT but I think he will also be great outside the game. It deserves something from VALVE that no player has. Well, if it weren't for him, CSGO wouldn't even exist. This scenario he built is absurd.

Wtf did he say? "I'M PLANNING TO PLAY ONE MORE YEAR" "BUT PERSONALLY, I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO DO OTHER STUFF IN MY LIFE TOO" It has the same sense, but with other words. It's like "I'm hungry, but I want to eat"

No He is saying that he will stick around one more(only) year because he needs to do other stuff, and he puts "but personally", between it, what makes it nonsense. Read it without "but personally", and feel the difference
2022-11-03 18:50

No you are reading it out of context if you remove the "but personally" The whole point of "but personally" is to bring the context back to 'now' not a year from now. As the question is whether this tournament (NOW) was his last dance. You're taking his statement out of context. I'll simplify it for you: Question: Is about PRESENT CONTEXT Answer Part 1: FUTURE CONTEXT (1 YEAR ahead) Answer Part 2: But personally brings us back to the question PRESENT CONTEXT

Ok, I see some sense here. He means that he will play for another year, but deep inside(personally) he want to do other stuff(right now, already)?
