The first Swiss round of the IEM Rio Major Legends Stage has concluded, and the eight best-of-one matchups for the second round that will close out the day have been determined.

The Legends Stage kicked off with two matches between four top-five teams, and the second round will be no different. A tantalizing and long-awaited battle between Natus Vincere and Cloud9 headlines the games in the 1-0 pool this time around, the first time the two CIS teams will meet this year following their long-standing back-and-forth rivalry throughout 2021.

FaZe also have a difficult match ahead of them in the form Vitality, who went the distance with NAVI before faltering in triple overtime. The Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen and Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire-led teams were trading off in occupying the No. 1 spot in our world rankings ahead of the event, and will now have to fight to determine which of them will already be on the brink of elimination heading into day two.

Other notable matches include HEROIC facing a strong-looking fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas going up against Outsiders in the 0-1 pool, and hometown heroes FURIA fighting Spirit.

0;1 matches are more interesting because it’s a fight of who will get pushed to elimination. It’s a lot more of things on the line than 1-0, because teams can still go 3-1 or 3-2, but 0-1 will determine which team will need to fight through flawless best of threes

All got to do with the pre determined seeding . The fact that Mouz and BIG went flawless in Challengers stage while Vitality and C9 struggled is why we have 4 best teams at the same side of the bracket.
