ESL Impact 2023 schedule announced with three LAN events

Another three LAN events are on the docket for next year.

ESL have revealed the ESL Impact schedule for 2023 with three LAN events, two league seasons, and bi-monthly cash cups set to take place over the course of the year.

The headline revelation is that a stand-alone tournament, like ESL Impact Valencia this year, will take place during IEM Katowice 2023 in February, with teams from across Europe, North America, South America, and Asia set to do battle in Poland. The team list will be made up of both invites and teams from open qualifiers.

Two more online ESL Impact League seasons will take place, with the third season running from March-April and culminating in a LAN final in Dallas from June 2-4. Season 4 will run from September-October, with the LAN final taking place in Hanover on December 15-17. Both seasons will sport a $150,000 prize pool.

Online cash cups will also be making a return, with a total prize pot of over $100,000 available across bi-monthly tournaments. More details for those will come later this year.

Nigma Galaxy dominated the first year of ESL Impact competition, taking all three of the LAN titles on offer in 2022. Their constant nemesis was FURIA fe, the Brazilians having fallen short of their counterparts in each final.

This is only ESL impact. They probably has some other big events for NA (Dallas) and Asia. Don’t think China will welcome ESL anymore though. Maybe Japan or Singapore. (Ignore Korea, just LoL region)

Actually, I don't think any LANs will be hosted in China until they change their zero-covid policy.

Women don't watch sports/esports, just a little number of them. So its like women football, hockey, basketball, not profitable. Funded by the organisations, not making money. Women should have conditions to play PRO though, at least 16 teams in the world

The problem is the same as footballs, there is only so much you can actually watch. there are male tournament everywhere everyday. so why bother watching tier 4-5 CS when you can watch tier 1-3 CS all day everyday.

esl is doing a good job, but they can do better. they need to put these events on the esl main channel. i watched the last final, barely no one was watching (2k or 3k if i remember correctly). to make a comparison: recently the valorant female final had 50k on the main channel and others streamers were co hosting the final

i think valorant female scene might be just better so it gets more attention as for main channel, not sure tbh. its a tier 4 even anyway

yeah plus i think riot is way better in promoting those things than anyone in the scene. volvo simply doesnt care about anything CS related. and the game is way more appealing to women (cute skins/female classes) then cs will ever be. I think at that point we just have to accept women cs will never rise.
