BanKs denies BNE to GODSENT rumors

The Kosovar team are not headed to the Swedish organization as a recent report suggested.

James "⁠BanKs⁠" Banks has denied rumors that Bad News Eagles are set to sign with GODSENT, contradicting a report from Fraglider.pt that emerged earlier on Wednesday suggesting the move was about to come to fruition.

"I do not know where these rumours came from but Bad News Eagles are not joining GODSENT," the Kosovar team's manager said in a Tweet. "They had a good offer for us but it was based on representing them at the the last Major with an option to extend it, which we did not agree to do. Then there were no further talks."

BanKs has stated that BNE are not in discussions with GODSENT

GODSENT has been without a team since June 2022 when the majority of their Brazilian lineup was signed by 00NATION. In November, Counter-Strike 1.6 legend and former NiP CEO Emil "⁠HeatoN⁠" Christensen joined the organization as a co-CEO, and they soon announced their intention to make a Swedish lineup.

GODSENT recently teased the signing of a new CS:GO lineup, but have yet to confirm what their new roster is. The Bad News Eagles members have been on the hunt for an organization for over a year since departing BLINK, and made a name for themselves through their showings at the last two Majors.

The lineup made it through the Challengers Stage at PGL Major Antwerp with a 3-2 record, securing wins over Eternal Fire, Imperial, and MIBR in the process, before being eliminated from the Legends Stage in last place. They managed to do one better at the IEM Road to Rio Major by going flawless through the first Swiss stage with a 3-0 record, and then shocked FaZe in the 0-2 elimination pool by sending the European lineup home early before getting eliminated themselves.

i actually like ur personality, it just often kinda bores me having you on stage as i get the feeling you are not asking many "real" questions but focus way more on trying to hype up the players and the crowd. Tough obviously most people will disagree with me, so i guess youre doing ur job great. Just personal preference. I dont think there are more then a few people disliking you as a person... but i guess some feel like i do :)

I'd like you to address the fake stories about you being a pro in CS. You were never a pro player, never played above SGL Div 1, and certainly didn't get paid to play the game like you claim to have done in various interviews.

1 of my co-workers went to a LAN in finland with YZN and has pracced vs astralis, vp etc at one point, ALthough he never played any official pro games apart from this game where he was a stand-in hltv.org/matches/2353513/kappa-bar-vs-li.. And he still got payed, he's still getting offers up to this day.

I don't like how you cancelled one of my favourite people in the scene, Redeye, solely because he didn't find you worthy. Instead of finding another employer, you threw accusations at him, including an incredibly serious one (domestic abuse) that he was cleared of in court. Well yes. And in return Godsent takes care of them during that period with whatever they need. Many teams did deals like this who did not have an org behind them, though I'm not sure if any actually made to the major. BNE technically has an org but not really. Getting under an umbrella of bigger org can have many benefits even during a small period of time.

Use your imagination. Surely you can think of a deal that would be beneficial for bne players to sign even for initial two months and even with less sticker money. Like "if you make to top16, we will hire you for 10000€/month for two years." -type of deal for example. Obviously we have no access to the details. But the details would have been much more vast and complicated than just "play with our logo and we take share of sticker money. In return we take care of you with potential to get hired after the major". In the end Bne and Godsent didn't get to agreement and thats what matters.
