ALTERNATE aTTaX sign Spiidi, slaxz-

The German duo reunite once more to round out ALTERNATE aTTaX's roster for the new year.

ALTERNATE aTTaX have announced the additions of Timo "⁠Spiidi⁠" Richter and Fritz "⁠slaxz-⁠" Dietrich to their starting roster, bringing the lineup back to full strength ahead of the start of the 2023 season.

The incoming duo take the places of Max "⁠PANIX⁠" Hangebruch and Patrick "⁠pdy⁠" Merken, who were allowed to explore their options toward the end of 2022 and have subsequently departed the organisation after spending just six months with the team.

Spiidi links up with ALTERNATE aTTaX on the back of a short-lived two-month stint with cowana before the organisation ceased operations. The German's active playtime with the roster was rather limited, however, and he only recorded three games with the squad in the form of a fifth-place run through ESL Meisterschaft Autumn 2022.

slaxz-, on the other hand, puts pen to paper and signs with ALTERNATE aTTaX after previously representing Sprout for close to two years. The German marksman was one of his side's more dependable players, putting up a middle-of-the-pack 1.09 rating over 583 maps whilst notably being a part of the roster that earned an IEM Rio Major Legends Stage berth.

The signing of the duo also marks Spiidi and slaxz-'s reunion, a partnership dating back to the pair's shared time at Sprout. The two played alongside each other from January 2021-July 2022, when Spiidi departed the organisation just before the squad's international pivot over the summer player break. The team recorded a handful of first-place finishes at the tier-two level of play during their time together, namely ESEA Premier Season 39 and ESL Meisterschaft Autumn 2021.

"Ups and downs characterized our year 2022. The roster changes we made in summer improved the team performance but still we were not able to achieve all of our goals," said Lennart Kreuter, ALTERNATE aTTaX's Project director.

"After thorough consultation with our staff and players we decided that changes were needed in order to reach our long term goals. With Spiidi and slaxz we were able to sign two German veterans who bring not only experience but also a new perspective to the game into the team."

"After ending 2022 with solid international results and a painful defeat in the National Championship (ESL Meisterschaft), we decided to make changes to the team," added Lukas Nowak, the team's manager.

"In 2023, PANIX and pdy will no longer be part of the team both have made a significant contribution to our success and we wish them all the best on there further path. At the same time, we are looking forward to work with FreeZe, PerX, awzek and our coach xenn for another year. With the addition of Spiidi and slaxz we are ready for an hopefully successful year."
