Heroic set the score straight against Evil Geniuses in Copenhagen

Martin "stavn" Lund was again the brightest star during HEROIC's victory.

HEROIC completed their lower bracket run at BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 after taking down Evil Geniuses in the consolidation final. Casper "cadiaN" Møller's men got their revenge against the North American squad after faltering to them in their first match of the tournament, and are now just one match away from qualifying for the Spring Final.

The Danes will face Vitality on Wednesday at 18:30 in Group A's final, from which the winner will advance to the seasonal final, and the loser will be sent to the gauntlet. HEROIC have an amazing record against the French organization over the last couple of years, with their last loss in the fixture being from October 2020.

Evil Geniuses narrowly beat the Danes earlier in their tournament run, but they failed to replicate their form in today's rematch despite a great start on Nuke (16-9), losing on Overpass (2-16) and Mirage (5-16). The loss relegates them to the gauntlet where they'll face Complexity to set up an all-North American derby on Friday at 15:00 .

cadiaN successfully rallied his troops after an opening loss on Nuke

HEROIC were humbled on their pick of Nuke by Evil Geniuses as the Danes failed to build on their early offensive success, faltering against a force buy after conceding to a stuck defuse on the lower site. The North Americans only dropped one more round before the end of the half, smashing HEROIC eleven consecutive times as they went into the break with a 12-3 lead. Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov led by example during Evil Geniuses's first official outing on Nuke in 2023 and swapped sides with a 1.92 rating, while Jadan "HexT" Postma taunted the Danes on the A bombsite.

HEROIC once again started off their half in good form, but failed to convert their success into a comeback despite stavn's best efforts to keep them in the game. A 1v3 clutch from the young rifler gave HEROIC a lifeline before it was quickly crushed by the North Americans with a pistol rush on the A bombsite to take the win 16-9.

HEROIC narrowly conceded Overpass during their loss against Evil Geniuses in their first game, but they came back today in much better form. The Danes gave Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg's team the same treatment they received on Nuke and sailed through their 13-2 defensive half on Overpass without much trouble while cadiaN, stavn, Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard, and Rasmus "sjuush" Beck fired on all cylinders.

The yelling between the two squads continued during the second map as cadiaN tried to rally his troops after the opening loss, and it worked. HEROIC dominated throughout the match and evened out the series 16-2 after a short T half. The only consolation on Overpass for Evil Geniuses was an ace clutch from HexT in the closing stages of the T side.

The early stages of Mirage saw the two squads trade rounds back and forth before HEROIC emerged as the clear favorites following a series of dominant defensive wins. They were spearheaded by another fantastic performance from stavn who accumulated a 1.79 rating alongside a 19-7 K-D and 124.4 ADR after the 12-3 half.

Evil Geniuses finally won their first pistol round of the series after switching sides, but HEROIC quickly responded with a rush on the B site, stealing back all momentum from the North Americans. From there, it was plain sailing for the Danes as they secured the map 16-5 and their revenge with a 2-1 victory.

I always wonder how absolute average players like the new "screaming clown", that are not able to "walk the talk", honestly not even able to walk 1/3 of the talk", feel after making a fool out of themselves. Why does this kind of brats behave like this? Is that a search for likes (brainless kind)?, is it exposure? what is it? truly sad and embarassing tbh.

I wonder about people that are unable to observe and realize, that they are watching people in a totally different situation than their own. Clearly the two teams where teasing each other, so why not just embrace that they aren't robots but people interacting with people. Do you generally struggle in social situations or is it hat you can't deal with other having fun?

Well... I do not know if your "social situations" are the same as mine. My social situations does not include the gratuity of being ofended by obnoxious brats or is this your idea of "having fun"? What is really serious is that...it probably is! So, should anyone that is used for ages to social interactions based on respect, fun, learning, playing, dancing, drinking and a buntch of other sane concepts apparently strange to you, take trash talk just because? Is that the way new kids feel themselves as "grown up" or adult or men? Apparently it is... A word of advise: go out, find real people and experiment a whole new concept of "social situations". Maybe you become a real man and find out a brand new world kid...

Well clearly your situation does include being offended, since what else is #9 about? Your reply to me is actually a rather good illustration of how you apparently struggle with understanding the social situation the players were in, it is like you do not want to understand we were watching two teams of young men competing against each other in a sport about killing. CS isn't Chess, Cricket or some other sport with long traditions about civility, it is e-sport with players killing each other virtually. Clearly the players were putting on a show and doing so in the spirit of CS, the banter is not about lack of respect and in fact one could argue the trash talk is actually partly because of respect - trying to intimidate the opponent is mind warfare only needed when the opponent is a threat. Bottom line - maybe watching CS just isn't for you.

Darn... Now, how do I justify seing CS since 2003 on my CPL Winter debut. How do I justify following old SK and NoA when there was no streams outside the game? How do I justify having the original game since 2002 with no bans? Thanks man! After all this time and upon your assessment, I will not watch anymore CS... or, maybe being a normal human being isn't for you :) Enjoy life kid

You're the one getting offended by players having fun, ask your self why - most likely you're getting old.

Probably makes it feel worse for EG though - you take your opponent's map pick, giving you a real chance to win, and then get smashed on your own

Not only are you forgetting about the first map but you’re forgetting about how EG beat heroic a couple days earlier in a comeback nobody expected. These are definitely good signs of improvement, time to get off your high horse acting like EG is garbage

By far the best part of this match was that Heroic shut up that constantly yapping four eyed mickey mouse. I can only imagine how annoying it would be, being his teammate.
