Copenhagen Games 2023 postponed indefinitely
The staple event in Denmark hasn't taken place since 2019.
The organizers of Copenhagen Games have announced that the 2023 edition of their tournament will not take place and has been postponed indefinitely. The tournament organizer cited the inability to find enough commercial and financial support from sponsors and exhibitors as the root cause for why they are unable to pull off the event at the moment.
The announcement comes just three months ahead of when the tournament was scheduled to start, and is the third consecutive time that the tournament has been cancelled.

The 2020 iteration of the event was cancelled due to the novel coronavirus and the ensuing pandemic, and their attempt to revive the tournament upon the return of LANs in 2022 ended up being cut short due to budgetary concerns and a lack of sponsors — a similar reason to this year's cancellation.

"We have tried to get Copenhagen Games 2023 up and running, but unfortunately we have to throw in the towel now," the organizer said in a statement. "There still is a huge interest from players all over the world for the event, and the City of Copenhagen is still supporting the event financially. But unfortunately it has not been possible to find enough commercial support for the event.
"The reason is a combination of after-effects of corona, the current economic crisis and increased competition. We are a very small organisation, that have been struggling with esports for many years, mostly because we have a very strong passion for organizing esport."
The last iteration of the tournament took place in 2019 and was won by FORZE. Each event would begin with a BYOC tournament in which a plethora of players and notable talent would compete in hopes of making the main tournament, which often had tens of thousands of dollars on the line.
It has acted as a proving ground for Danish and international talent alike throughout the years and has run since 2010, with a number of players and teams that are now very familiar at the top level taking part including Gambit Youngsters, Imperial, HEROIC, and Sprout.
