Tricked puts professional esports division on hold

The Danish organization stated that it can't meet the ambitions of the current market as the reason for downgrading its professional division.

Tricked has announced that it will no longer field professional teams and all players currently employed by the organization through professional contracts are free to find new homes in other organizations.

The closure of the professional esports division is due to Tricked's inability to "meet the ambitions in the current market," the organization's statements reads. "As the country [Denmark] stands today, the professional esports setup that Tricked Esport wants to operate is too difficult to lift and Tricked Esport does not see that we can fulfill our esports ambitions in a responsible way in the current market."

The storied Danish structure, which has been operating for 11 years, will still field its teams until the end of the season, although it will not stand in the way of its players moving elsewhere immediately.

Throughout its history Tricked has been one of the main pipelines for upcoming Danish talent to flourish before moving on to some of the country's top sides, as well a home for veterans looking to rebound after being cut from bigger teams. The likes of Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen, Ismail "⁠refrezh⁠" Ali, Jakob "⁠JUGi⁠" Hansen, Nikolaj "⁠niko⁠" Kristensen, and Johannes "⁠b0RUP⁠" Borup all sported the team's black and red colors.

At its pinnacle, Tricked fielded the squad made up of Nicolai "⁠HUNDEN⁠" Petersen, Lucas "⁠Bubzkji⁠" Andersen, Frederik "⁠acoR⁠" Gyldstrand, Rasmus "⁠sjuush⁠" Beck and Fredrik "⁠roeJ⁠" Jørgensen that won V4 Future Sports Festival 2019 in Budapest, Hungary, beating Virtus.pro and MIBR in the process.
