Imperial, BESTIA advance to BLAST Paris Major Americas RMR

The pair of teams are the first to qualify from the South America closed qualifier.

Imperial and BESTIA have emerged unscathed from the BLAST.tv Paris Major South America RMR closed qualifier with 3-0 records in the Swiss stage. The Brazilian and Argentine lineups join FURIA and Liquid on the team list for the Americas RMR, which is set to take place in Monterrey, Mexico from April 5-9 with five spots at the Paris Major up for grabs.

Imperial moved past INTZ and RED Canids with relative ease in their first two matches, and were then matched up against Fluxo in a best-of-three series. João "⁠felps⁠" Vasconcellos and Wilton "⁠zews⁠" Prado proved unable to overcome their former teammate's new squad and ended up on the losing end of an 0-2 defeat, with Imperial winning Overpass 16-11 and Vertigo 16-9 to take the series.

FalleN and chelo are through to the Americas RMR

The newly-formed BESTIA lineup moved past O PLANO and Fuscão 1500 before having a somewhat closer series versus ODDIK to decide who would advance. Narrow margins at halftime on both Anubis and Overpass still gave way to a two-map victory, however, with Ignacio "⁠meyern⁠" Meyer's side taking the former map 16-12 and the latter 16-11 to earn their own berth to the Americas RMR.

Another two teams will advance later on Saturday through the North America closed qualifier, while a total of ten teams between the two regions will have their Major aspirations cut short early. 00NATION and TeamOne are among the teams of note that are facing an early elimination, with Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David and company currently fighting for their life versus ARCTIC in an 0-2 matchup.
