Eternal Fire to face Bad News Eagles in CCT Central Europe grand final
The Turkish squad secured a marginal 2-0 consolidation final victory over ENCE in 60 rounds.
Eternal Fire have made it to the CCT Central Europe Finals grand final, where they are set to face off for the trophy against the upper bracket champions Bad News Eagles. They accomplished the feat in the consolidation final with a close 2-0 victory over ENCE, who made their way through the tournament with academy player Henri "HENU" Ylilehto.
The series started on the European team’s pick of Vertigo, but four kills by Ömer "imoRR" Karataş in the opening pistol round allowed the Turks to set the pace early on the attack. Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli and his men went on a six round streak untested before a back-and-forth tussle took them to a 10-5 lead at the half.
The lead was quickly squandered on the defense as Eternal Fire could not follow up their successful pistol round and ENCE made a rush to the finish with an eight round streak to lead 13-11. A last ditch effort by Eternal Fire paid off as they regained their hard fought lead to hit match point, 15-14, and when ENCE had overtime in the bag a final 1vs2 clutch by Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç sealed the deal in his team’s favor.

Vertigo was a costly loss for ENCE, who sported a 0% winrate on Anubis in 4 tries going into Eternal Fire’s pick. The Turks on the other hand boasted a healthier 60% with a 6-4 record in ten tries. Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and company started strong on defense, however, taking a 7-3 lead, but let EF tie four offensives together to bring it within one at the half.
Once again the map was decided by margins and went to the wire. This time the make or break round was won by imoRR, who downed three players in a 2vs3 retake to defuse the bomb and hit match point heading to round 30. Álvaro "SunPayus" García, with a double, was the only player on the board for the attackers in the last round, who were felled down by the final-bound Eternal Fire.
The CCT Central Europe Malta Finals' grand final will be a rematch of the upper bracket final, a three-map nailbiter that went the way of Dionis "sinnopsyy" Budeci and company, as well as a replay of the opening series of the tournament for both teams, which also went the way of the Kosovar squad in the thirtieth round of the best-of-one.
The final best-of-three series will take place at 20:00 , after Eternal Fire have had time to recompose following their consolidation final victory over ENCE.
