00NATION to field n9xtz in place of TACO for ESL Pro League

The Brazilian captain won't make it to Malta.

Epitacio "⁠TACO⁠" de Melo will miss out on attending ESL Pro League Season 17 due to personal reasons, Dust2.com.br has revealed. Former Young Gods member Leonardo "⁠n9xtz⁠" Santos has gotten the call-up to fill the gap, with Marcelo "⁠coldzera⁠" David presumed to take over leadership duties.

TACO's absence from the lineup is expected to be temporary and only for the duration of ESL Pro League, according to Dust2.com.br. 00NATION said that "it will clarify the matter soon" in a statement to the publication.

TACO will not play for 00NATION in Malta

n9xtz took an indefinite break from professional competition in November 2022, and hasn't recorded an official match since October. He averaged a 0.98 rating and 0.94 impact over 39 maps in 2022, and will face a difficult test upon his return.

00NATION reside in Group C of ESL Pro League Season 17 alongside the likes of FaZe, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Vitality. Their first match of the event is scheduled for March 8 at 19:30 against OG.

00NATION will field the following roster in Malta:
