fnatic, FURIA among teams invited to BLAST Spring Showdown

The two top-15 squads will look to secure their participation at the BLAST Premier Spring Final in June.

BLAST has revealed the four teams who have received invites to both the European and Americas versions of the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.

The two online competitions will play out from March 29-April 2 and each offer just one berth to the BLAST Premier Spring Final, which is scheduled to take place on LAN in Washington, D.C., from June 7-11.

fnatic will aim to qualify for the BLAST Spring Final through the Showdown

fnatic are the sole team to receive an invite to the European bracket, and now join the likes of OG and BIG for a chance at making it stateside.

Three more spots are yet to be filled for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown Europe. Two teams will come through the RES Western European Masters Spring 2023 and RES Eastern European Masters Spring 2023 qualifiers, which run from March 3-5, while the Pelaajat Nordic Masters Spring 2023 competition, scheduled for March 17-19, will award just one berth.

The current team list for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown Europe is:

Europe fnatic
Europe Ninjas in Pyjamas

The Americas Showdown opted to dish out invites to three Brazilian squads. FURIA, MIBR, and paiN all confirmed their participation in the eight-team brawl, where they will go up against teams such as Liquid and Complexity in a bid to qualify for the BLAST Spring Final in the United States capital.

The BLAST Premier Spring Showdown Americas now has one lone spot up for grabs, which will be filled by the winner of the Ace North American Masters Spring 2023 on March 9-12.

The team list for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown Americas is:

The BLAST Premier Spring Final will take place in Washington, D.C., from June 7-11 and boast a $425,000 prize pool. Six of the eight teams have already been decided following the BLAST Premier Spring Groups competition in January, with the remaining berths being filled by the victors of the two regions' respective Showdowns.

The list of teams participating at the BLAST Premier Spring Final is:

true, but i personally couldnt rate fnatic higher considering their best result this year was a 2-1 vs outsiders and the rest are wins over t2 teams

Yeah, it makes no sense to invite the higher ranked team, we should go by what team HLTV user inshallah thinks is better!

Got slapped on the ass by the community and finally turned their brains on regarding their handicapped qualification system, still miles to go to be competent but that's a good start

Well it hard to find good teams for NA, so most invites will be wasted.

Why? The text says it was only one invite for the EU spring blast. And Fnatic is a higher ranked team so it makes perfect sense.

To me, this looks like blast struggling to organize the regional qualifiers because of major this spring. But I won't complain because this is better than the regional qualifiers.

8 teams tournament with 6 spots given to partners and people still thinks it's a tier 1 event, Blast tournaments are just worth to farm top 20 of the year points

Bullshit. I love BLAST events and production but they need to increase their partners or redesign their events. It’s almost impossible for non-partnered teams to play BLAST events other than the Showdowns.
