Cloud9 part ways with interz
The Russian rifler leaves the organization after two months on the bench.
Timofey "interz" Yakushin is no longer a part of Cloud9, the organization announced on Twitter. The player was previously moved to the inactive roster in January to make space for Timur "buster" Tulepov and can now freely explore his options in the market.
The 22-year-old spent close to four years playing alongside the core of Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov, Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov, and Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov, a partnership that started all the way back in 2019 with Gambit Youngsters. He was ultimately removed from the active roster in January following a poor end to the team's 2022 season.

interz contributed to Gambit's dominance in the late stages of the online era, when the CIS quintet earned first-place finishes at IEM Katowice 2021 and BLAST Premier Spring Final 2021, earning the No. 1 spot on the world ranking. The Russian core remained at the top of the ladder until Natus Vincere dethroned them in July of that year following their win at IEM Cologne.
The squad briefly competed under the Players banner before being acquired by Cloud9 in April 2022, and it was with their new organization that interz lifted his first BIg Event trophy at IEM Dallas. The Russian rifler averaged a 1.04 rating on his way to the victory in Texas, his second-highest LAN score of that year, but it was his performances in the later stages of the tournament that caught the eye.

interz recorded a 1.47 rating against BIG in the semi-finals and a 1.29 score in the last match against ENCE — a series of significant overperformances compared to his average 0.99 rating in 2022. The 22-year-old did not maintain the same level of consistency throughout the rest of the year and only managed to record one event in the green with the California-based organization, with a 1.08 rating at ESL Pro League Season 16.
Cloud9's last tournament with interz was the IEM Rio Major, and the squad was expected to make a challenge for the trophy after the elimination of favorites such as Vitality and Natus Vincere in the Legends Stage. However, the team faltered in the playoffs once again and they were knocked out by MOUZ in the quarter-finals.
