NAVI move past 00NATION in Malta to set up Outsiders clash

Natus Vincere now move on to face Outsiders in the round of 12 on Wednesday at 15:30 for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Natus Vincere defeated 00NATION in the final round of 16 clash of ESL Pro League S17. The Ukrainian side narrowly closed out Ancient (16-14) before a lackluster CT side cost them on Overpass (8-16). The decider was Mirage, where Natus Vincere switched around some positions on the CT side. The role changes seem to have improved their play on the map, as they closed out the series with a dominant 16-4 victory.

Denis "electroNic" Sharipov touched on Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy's new position of A anchor in the post-match interview: "For me, this is the best position for him, I think he will improve even more in the future."

For 00NATION, this is the end of the road at EPL. They surprised many by even making it through the group stage, especially due to the Brazilian side attending the tournament without IGL Epitacio "TACO" de Melo. Their focus now switches to the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 Americas RMR, held in Monterrey, Mexico from April 5-9. TACO will remain on the sidelines for the tournament, so the team will hope for a continuation of their Malta form if they are to secure one of the five Paris Major spots on offer for the Americas region.

Perfecto was NAVI's best performer with a 1.19 rating

00NATION decided to pick Ancient in the series but got off to a slow start, losing out in the opening force-buy wars to find themselves 10-1 down to the Ukrainian side. electroNic racked up 16 kills in an impressive performance, as their proactive CT side was simply too much for 00NATION to handle. The Brazilians did put up a decent recovery towards the end of the half, however, first getting on the board with a B attack facilitated by Marcelo "coldzera" David's entry before stringing five rounds together to go into the second half 5-10 down.

00NATION kept up their momentum into the second half, winning the pistol and following conversion to take the lead for the first time on the map, 11-10. Their economy was in dire straits despite a seven-round winning streak, as Natus Vincere's first T-side round forced 00NATION into two save rounds. Natus Vincere regained their foothold on the map and did just enough to close it out in thirty rounds to save themselves from an upset on their opponent's pick.

Next up was Overpass, and 00NATION got off to a much better start as they won the pistol and weathered the Natus Vincere forcebuys. They kept the lead throughout most of the first half, looking in control of proceedings if we discount Natus Vincere's five-round streak in the middle of the half. coldzera and company kept ahead by winning some close rounds with their economy almost always at breaking point to win the first half 9-6.

Natus Vincere cooled off in the second half and got just two rounds on the defense despite opening with a pistol-round win. Leonardo "n9xtz" Santos answered with a triple-kill in the forcebuy, and 00NATION never looked back after that. They outplayed their opponents with a mixture of slow, methodical plays and occasional fast B rushes to keep Natus Vincere guessing, eventually closing out the map 16-8 to move the series onto a third map.

Natus Vincere started Mirage confidently to go up 5-1 before Lucas "nqz" Soares produced the play of the series in an eco round — an ace that included a 1vs3 clutch. That round broke Natus Vincere's money and allowed the Brazilians to get up to four before Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and company stabilized. b1t won two clutches of his own to keep his team ahead and allow Natus Vincere to close out the half 11-4.

A second-half pistol win for Natus Vincere got them into the driver's seat to close out the map, and the following conversion put them within two rounds of victory. electroNic's double kill on the A attack netted Natus Vincere the first gun round of the half to put their win beyond any doubt, and they closed it out 16-4 to book their ticket in the round of 12 of ESL Pro League S17.

NPL role in the team is the issue again. He should have been playing an aggressive role. But b1ad3 wants him to be an anchor while Electronic S1MPLE and Perfecto are playing aggressive. NPL is. Loosing so many 1v1 duels that Perfecto is being pressured every round. This doesn't work until NPL steps up and hold sites

I feel like npl has especially bad match or at least map (even for his standards) when he faces a team from a region he didn't played against before. First NA team 0.3 rating. First Asian team 0.48 rating. And today first SA team 0.88 rating.

Sure thing. A team that figured in the top20 until september, knocked NIP out of EPL, thrashed NAVI on Overpass and lost a 16-14 close call by lack of economy on Ancient *with an academy player completing* is DEFINITELY tier 3 just because you're and assblasted s1mple fan. Lol. Lmao.

This is their first tournament in which they made playoffs, it's called pulling an upset dumbass. And yes Navi lost 8-16 to them that's why I said they should slap themselves for throwing an easier win. The current NIP with a roster change less than a month ago is obviously not a good team atm, so congrats on beating them I guess. September was half a year ago, and even then no S-tier playoffs. The same team got 0-3'd in Rio major, "not tier 3" hahahaha. If they make another 1-2 playoffs convincingly then they can be a minimum tier-2 team. But yeah I'm not surprised to see a low-IQ crying comment from a delusional fan like you

Implying that a team is not tier 2 because they had a slump between october and november is pretty preposterous. But what should I expect from a NAVI fan other than being straight out butthurt and dumb? It is what it is I guess.

"Slump between October and november" when the fuck were they better except for the mini-stint in cologne, which is NOT worth being called tier 2??? You're talking as if they were always a better team since they started playing like a year ago. Delusional Br fans like you never fail to amuse me with the stupid takes

Featuring in the top20 since the roster's inception = mini-stint Featuring in the top20 until the last two months in which some key players struggled = absolutely, unquestionably tier 3 and not even close to tier 2, tier 2 minimum at best (sic) You're not only stupid about counter-strike, but also clearly addicted to cherry-picking and fallacious arguments. Congratulations. And I am not a "br fan" by any measure, you stupid, arrogant, stuck-up and priggish EU kid. The only players I like in 00nation are cold and dumau.

"featuring top 20 in HLTV = tier 2" is your logic hahahahaha. Seems like you're the one who knows nothing about CS. Liquid is a T1 team but does not deserve #4 ranking as much as Vitality. Same goes for NaVi. Rankings don't always indicate the tier of a team. But ofc people like you will not understand this. Let's suppose your logic is true, "Featuring in the top20 until the last two months in which some key players struggle........" they were out of top 20 since October according to HLTV team stats and after cologne they failed to make any good runs for next almost 8 months until now in pro league. - "Fallacious arguments" - "Featuring in the top20 until the last two months" Learn to cross-check your facts before crying and making strong claims. Also, I called you a "Br fan" cause you had the Br flag. If you aren't from there, good for you I guess...... "Delusional Br fans" does not mean that all Br fans are bad. Every fanbase has delusional fans, such as you in the 00nation fanbase. Either you accept the truth or you can bark at me like a dog, I really don't care hahaha

Do you want to talk about logic? How about the fact that Navi was mogged on their map pick against the "tier 3 team" but just now they mopped the floor with Outsiders in a non-dramatic 2-0 BO3? What kind of logic are you going to conjure up to justify your twisted thinking? Is Outsiders tier 3? Of course not, they are a tier 1, and 00nation is tier 2 and still has a lot to prove if they want to get out of tier 2, but clearly they're not tier 3 and it's pretty unfair to dish them out by saying that "Navi lost a 8-16 against a tier 3 team". Your line of thought is inconsistent. In the same way that you argued that 00nation having a 0-3 at Rio is somehow an argument, as if Faze would be lessened like that because of two sketchy BO1 and a BO3. Inconsistent. "Rankings don't always indicate the tier of a team"? True that. And precisely because of it you can argue that 00nation is not a tier 3 team. Yet you tried to make the point that they're not tier 2 because of their form in two months and one tournament (first domestic major) that took its toll on the psyche of a team that featured 4 young prospects, then 3 young prospects, and now 4 again, and also the ranking impact of the lack of big event participations after the major until now, which is par for the course for tier 2 teams. Once again, inconsistent. And also nice double standard. Other things could be argued to rank 00 as a tier 2 team, like the fact that the team has 3 players with a 1.10 or higher rating 2.0 in the last 3 moths, plus 3 players with a rtg 2.0 around 1.05 in big events. Or that they got into the EPL playoffs, or that the same Grayhound that you hailed as a reason for 00 not qualifying as tier 2 has defeated Cloud9. Your arguments are filled with blatant inconsistencies. And also how about the fact that you're sub-repticiously arguing that your own way of ranking is better than all of HLTV's metrics and analytics? Suddenly, it is you looking more and more like a typical delusional br fan that thinks everything and everyone he likes is the best and that he is right all the time. But it's okay, you can jump to the next phase of your clown show and start narrowing the definitions of tier 2 so you can try to squeak by your preposterous and derogatory claims. And also moan and cry, keep calling names, being passive-agressive with BS like "good for you if you don't live in brazil" and finish it by victimising yourself and pretending that it's me barking and b*tching, and not you.
