paiN, FURIA secure first Paris Major spots at Americas RMR

Two Brazilian lineups emerged victorious from the first two qualifying matches in Monterrey.

paiN and FURIA have qualified for the BLAST.tv Paris Major with victories over Fluxo and Liquid, respectively, in the 2-0 round of games. A first-place decider match will be played between the teams on Sunday at 01:30 to determine who will claim the single Legends spot on offer at the Paris Major.

Rodrigo "⁠biguzera⁠" Bittencourt's side demolished Fluxo with ease en route to booking their ticket to Paris, stamping their authority on the proceedings immediately with a 16-1 thrashing on Mirage before continuing their run of form on their own pick of Mirage, 16-8.

FURIA had a solid start on Liquid's pick of Nuke, leading 9-6 at the half, but the North American side put on a strong defense to gain the lead before managing to close things out in overtime. The loss did not shake FURIA, however, and they bounced back by edging out a 16-13 victory on Inferno and then crushing Liquid on the Mirage decider, 16-4.
