HAVU sign sLowi on a permanent basis

The Finnish rifler returns to the team nearly a year after his departure.

HAVU have decided to keep Olli "⁠sLowi⁠" Pitkänen on a permanent basis, the organization announced on Twitter. The announcement came less than a week after the 27-year-old stepped in to cover Jani "⁠Aerial⁠" Jussila, who decided to take a break from competition following years of sleeping issues.

sLowi was previously part of HAVU for four years between 2018-2022 and played over 1000 maps with the organization on HLTV while covering a variety of roles. He was benched and later released in the summer of 2022 as the team reorganized around Sami "⁠xseveN⁠" Laasanen and Aerial.

sLowi spent the last year competing for Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli's JANO project alongside the likes of Slaava "⁠Twista⁠" Räsänen and Lasse "⁠ZOREE⁠" Uronen, averaging a 1.04 rating with the squad — the second-highest performer behind the veteran AWPer. He now returns to an organization he knows inside out as they tackle the European tier-two circuit.

The organization has found some moderate success over the last 12 months, topping regional qualifiers and events such as Pelaajat Series Fall 2022, Elisa Open Finland Season 3 Finals, and Pelaajat Series Spring Showoff 2023. They even made the finals of CCT North Europe Series 2, but have otherwise failed to qualify for any notable LANs this year.

Aerial steps back from competition

sLowi's second stint with HAVU will not involve him taking part in the leadership as he explained in the announcement video."Last time in HAVU I was in-game leading, this time I don't need to do it. It sure helps me to focus in my own game as my role will be just trying to kill everyone."

The 27-year-old will play his first game back with HAVU against FORZE in the CCT Online Finals 1's second fixture at 14:30 . The Finnish team was invited after finishing fourth in the Champion of Champion Tour's ranking for North Europe and will tackle the $200,000 as one of the lowest-ranked teams in attendance.

Well french was getting a oittle better results then PL cause there was more better players to recycle :D ever since VP it been only recycling every 1-4 weeks only team that is decent is 9ine atm compared what we had.

+1, lately only Banjo has joined the mix of Finnish players but other than that it's the same names since like 2019

Finland doesnt have any prodigies anymore. All the youngsters are either not good enough or they just dont have the right mentality to play in a real team. If the og 3dmax made comeback now they would probably dominate finnish cs even tho they are all retired for like 10 years now.

Well, the HAVU org is financially struggling so I wouldn't be surprised if they cease operations by the end of the year. Joining the club with SJ Gaming, KOVA and hREDS.
