paiN join fight for FalleN with FURIA - Report

The Brazilian veteran has interest from his region's two highest-ranked teams.

paiN have entered into informal discussions with Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo and are exploring the possibility of adding the 32-year-old sniper to their roster, though no official bid has been made as of yet and talks are still in early stages.

The information was reported by Dust2.com.br, and follows in the wake of a report from Game Arena that revealed FURIA had also expressed interest in the Brazilian sniper. FURIA co-owner Andre Akkari confirmed that a meeting with FalleN was to follow in the next two weeks, with at least two parties now interested in securing the veteran captain's services.

Interest in FalleN is blooming ahead of the tournament break

FalleN confirmed in an upcoming interview with Dust2.com.br that paiN is one of the possibilities for a future move, but that nothing is confirmed as of yet. The publication added that both parties have mutual interest in each other, but FalleN still has to meet with FURIA before anything further is decided. FalleN previously played for paiN's Crossfire team from 2013-2014, and is no stranger to the organization.

paiN's interest in FalleN is also a means of protection as the organization think they may lose players due to the transfer market, with some of their members already being the target of early talks. The organization currently have Romeu "⁠zevy⁠" Rocco on their books as a sniper, having acquired him just under a year ago for a hefty 325,000€ buyout.

Imperial, in turn, are working to retain FalleN and are aligned with him in a vision to "create a lasting relationship to further popularize our sport that we love so much." Dust2.com.br stated that the organization retaining FalleN is "real possibility", with Imperial adding the following:

"We are in a period of much market speculation and it is natural that all this attention is generated around FalleN. He represents a lot within the market, he is an idol. The Brazilian market wants and needs news and we are working to innovate."

I understand why Furia would risk a move like that, Art seems kinda tilted with the way the team is going and they clearly are seeking deeper changes on how the team works and there aren't many brazilians that are up to this, maybe someone like zews (coach) could do it as well but it's not like he's doing any better than Fallen anyways (another option would be an international coach which I would honestly prefer but doesn't look like they are even considering it). But for pain it doesn't make any sense, they just came from a resoanably good semester with Biguzera doing suprisingly well as an IGL, even tho he has been on it for less than an year and they just spent a fortune to bring Zevy, which sure, he hasn't been perfoming as well as they wished, specially against top 20 teams but he is still young and I doubt they would be able to sell him now. There is absolutely no reason to make a big and risky change now, I can only imagine this is an org interest to get some of Fallen's fanbase and attention before he retires but in the team's competitive perspective, this makes no sense at all

Going to FURIA is the best move, but they need a solid 5th player there. The ideal world would be +fer too but this may be out of reach so at least +VINI back would be pretty decent. The down side is we maybe gonna see them one of the academy bot who’s gonna do nothing. Now If falleN goes to PaiN, this is an interesting move. Zevy isn’t ready for tier 1, that’s a fact. He lacks no only of skill but game IQ. FalleN is far from his prime but experience can be the key here. Do they stick with biguzera calling? Do they change another piece? I don’t think they need to. With Art's over-aggressive style failing for years now and Saffee not working out it makes sense they wanna switch up... but Pain have looked great and Zevy's AWP is a big reason why.
