Media: MIBR in negotiations with FURIA over drop and saffee

With MIBR down to only three players, they have turned to FURIA for potential recruits.

MIBR have entered negotiations with FURIA over the potential transfers of André "⁠drop⁠" Abreu and Rafael "⁠saffee⁠" Costa, according to a report from Dust2.br. It was stated in the report that other organizations had their interest piqued by drop and saffee, but that MIBR is the favorite to secure their services.

This report comes in the wake of MIBR relegating Matheus "⁠Tuurtle⁠" Anhaia and Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles to the bench, meaning the Brazilian squad requires two new players ahead of the new season.

Dust2.br also mentioned that MIBR's reported interest in Lucas "⁠Lucaozy⁠" Neves was rejected by the player, and he is now set to remain in Fluxo.

MIBR had a mixed bag of results in the first season of 2023. The Brazilian squad performed well in regional events, winning CCT North America Series 4 and ESL Challenger League twice, but they struggled in international competition, failing to progress through the Katowice Play-In, make the playoffs of ESL Pro League, or qualify for the BLAST Paris Major.

The two potential recruits MIBR are negotiating for had shaky performances themselves so far in 2023, with drop’s 0.89 rating for the year sitting comfortably at the bottom of the pile for FURIA. saffee has performed better, his 1.03 rating actually outstripping the 0.97 of Andrei "⁠arT⁠" Piovezan, but still he has been short of the numbers to be expected from a top-tier AWPer.

Rostermania: Off-season changes and rumors in one place

The Brazilian scene is in the midst of a significant shuffle ahead of the second half of the year, with many of the top teams reportedly looking to make moves. Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo is due to head to FURIA should Brazil’s best team negotiate successfully with Imperial, and other potential moves will occur to fill roster spots left open by the big transfers.

Saffe is not insane. He has a few god mode games, but hes inconsistent and plays the rifle better than the awp. For fucks sake, arT awp rushing has more positive impact than most saffe games

Saffee was so much better on Pain. idk what happened to him when he joined Furia. Junior isnt as good as Saffee, but he also just looked awful on Furia too.

I think it's mostly a style clash. HEN1 is a more passive awper so he delivered more in FURIA's aggressive system, while saffee, an aggressive awper, faired worse. The same thing happened with junior. A combination of style clash and tendencies that get punished in tier 1 as opposed to tier 2. HEN1 already had tier 1 experience joining FURIA

Drop is solid when things are going right for him, the moment he fucks up onde he becomes a bot and cant get his head back into the game. Hes young, hell learn, i wish this kid nothing but success, but Furia needed to kick him ASAP, even tho i think the only real issue with FURIA is mental, not strategical nor mechanical. Boys lose one eco and apparently get so tilted that they forget How to play.

+1 The Brazilian scenario is a bit different because Fallen brings $$ and experience, so they don't hire him just for his skills. And there are a lot of prospect players around, so even if you have an okay roster only, you can still farm T2 or worse events (what Mibr is doing rn). EG took so many questionable decisions that they can't even compete with the T2 BR scene playing in NA anymore, let alone be contenders for any T1 title. At least the org itself, as far as I know, has money to do a full reset for CS2, so hopefully NA fans will have something else to cheer for other than COL.

hen1 been better than FalleN since FalleN left SK. FalleN is only getting older and has expressed so many times how he is ready to retire. Signing FalleN is stupid because you have maybe one, two years left of less than promising performance. Hen1 is still young and has proven himself to be a capable awper.

Lucky is still hanging around tier 3 danish scene. Kyojin despite not just falling, but continuously doing so, by sucking in each team he joined since, including tier 5 french squads, he is still getting offers from every other french mix. Junior got like 4 tier 1 opportunities despite coming short each time, and he is still getting them because he farms tier 2. If you show potential in tier 2 after shidding the bed in tier 1, it's only a matter of time and marketing before teams are willing to give you another try. Especially in NA and SA where tier 1 experience is sparse and very valuable

What is Art still doing on Furia if they're targeting Fallen? I assumed that the only reason for keeping him this entire time was for the calling, and most likely Fallen will be IGLing on the new Furia. Surely there are better entries than Art available. Keeping a core of 3 players from the last major isn't applicable with the new qualification rules anymore either.

I figured those would be the roles and that would be the reason, but the "core" thing doesn't really matter as much now, and I feel like there are better players for art's roles not considering IGL.
