Astralis Talent and Kristou part ways

The 21-year-old Dane is now free to explore his options in the market.

Astralis have announced that Kristoffer "⁠Kristou⁠" Aamand will no longer represent their academy lineup going into the fall season. The move ended the Dane's 10-month stint with Astralis Talent, which resulted in two LAN trophies and six online gold medals.

The AWPer's departure comes during a time of change in the Astralis organization and their academy team. Earlier in June coach Mathias "⁠R0nic⁠" Pinholt was promoted to the position of assistant coach in the senior lineup and Andreas "⁠Xyp9x⁠" Højsleth benched in Astralis Talent.

Kristou averaged a 1.03 rating with Astralis Talent

Kristou helped Astralis talent claim first place at six online tournaments, with the most notable being CCT North Europe Series 4 in March. The Danes also claimed two local LAN trophies at NPF Invitational 2022 and POWER Ligaen Season 23 Finals, where the AWPer averaged a 1.06 rating across both events.

"Astralis and the 21-year-old talent team member, Kristoffer 'Kristou' Aamand, have mutually agreed to part ways," read the statement released by Astralis. "Kristou has consistently demonstrated high professionalism and commitment, significantly contributing to the team's recent achievements, including securing victories in the domestic POWER Ligaen and the Y-Games Pro Series."

The youngster is now on the lookout for a new place to call home. "Time for me to move on and find a team where I can take it to the next step," Kristou posted on Twitter.

Note the "if". I have no idea what was the main reason for the split of Astralis+gla1ve+Xyp and zonic+magisk+dupreeh. Chances are, their visions on how to get back to #1 didn't align anymore or there were even personal disputes. I don't know. But IF problems were between dupreeh and gla1ve/Xyp, then now the path for a return is cleared.

I'm pretty sure they were replaced in order to make room for blame and konfig. The team hadn't won anything in a long time so the management decided to change something. I doubt the players had any issues with each other

Thanks mate. It wasn't interpersonal issues as far as I remembered. Thought there was some news I missed thats why I asked you about the source. As per Bubzkji (HLTV confirmed) all the 6 were going to sign together on their terms. But dev1ce suddenly left for NIP and everything fell apart. Initially it was Xyp, magisk and zonic leaving. Then it was dupreeh magisk and zonic leaving. That's what I remember

I still dont understand what the organization want to use the team for - not one players of the "Talent" team has stayed up - Mistr and Altekz? - Mistr and Altekz where not good enough for main team but stay? - they have hired young players from out side - Steahr and Buzz? - br0 by far the best player, but has not had a chance? - Xyp9x moved down replacing Jarko - but not Gla1ve? - Patti and Br0 only there for some consistency or?

Why did it take so long for this news to appear on hltv? Astralis talent is pretty good tier 2 team so I expected the news to come sooner.

I will agree! As team "astralis talent" look go with good results, but the support look crappy. I even doubt their coach has made any impact as results where even better before R0nic joined. But even he got more glory! Maybe a different org. should pick up the full talent roster
