Official: MIBR sign saffee, drop

The ex-FURIA duo have completed the MIBR roster.

MIBR have signed André "⁠drop⁠" Abreu and Rafael "⁠saffee⁠" Costa from FURIA, the organization has announced on Twitter. The move comes after MIBR moved Matheus "⁠Tuurtle⁠" Anhaia and Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles to the bench, with the incoming duo taking their place on the active roster.

"Being able to have drop and saffee on the team was a market opportunity that we couldn't pass up and that in our eyes will meet many needs that the team needs both in-game and outside the game," said head coach Bruno "⁠BIT⁠" Fukuda Lima about their new signings.

saffee joins MIBR from FURIA after an underwhelming 2023 for the entire team. The Brazilian powerhouse struggled to meet expectations, resulting in a dismal exit at the BLAST.tv Paris Major Legends Stage, where they finished in last place. This tournament became a particularly bleak moment for them, as they suffered particularly on the T side and failed to secure double-digit scores on any of the maps, highlighting their underwhelming form.

The AWPer produced a 1.03 rating during 2023, making him a middle-of-the-board performer for his team. The sniper found himself out of FURIA due to the organization reportedly securing the signing of Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo before making the jump to MIBR, where he will inherit the Big Green from HEN1.

FURIA's 2023 season was especially challenging for drop, who struggled to find his footing and achieved the lowest average rating of the team at 0.89. Despite initially joining the team in August 2021 as a promising FURIA Academy graduate, drop was unable to consistently deliver the performances required to secure his place in the roster, eventually making way as FURIA started their rebuild.

Furia is playing most of the time lan or big events while mibr is smurfing on br/na scene. He will be fine. Anyway hen1 is washed. 1.00 rating against any top30 teams.

Mibr wanted to kick hen1 since January due to internal conflicts. But i guesse hen1 is going to a better home in imperial where all guys over there are his friends and not colleague workers.

yeah hen1 is know for not being an exemplar professional and he was the most experienced player on the lineup ( was supposed to be somewhat a leader). So MIBR did not want someone whit as bad attitudes as hen1 in their core. Kinda like the Fer to liquid where he only didn't sign because hes outspoken and got cancelled multiple times.

That makes a lot of sense, Saffee never truly fit in Furia, but let's not forget what a monster he was at Pain (I wished he went back there but Mibr is fine too) and I do think it's possible for him to go back to that level now in a new team with less pressure and a more standart style. And for drop, after all he went through in Furia is kinda crazy to think he is still 19 yo, so it's needless to say how much potential he has, and I'm really glad he left Furia because I was afraid all that pressure and criticism might end up spoiling his mental and all his potential, so a reset was much needed for him and Mibr, with all this really experienced coaches and also some other prospects at his side is the perfect team for him to continue improving
