Viperio part ways with roster
The British-Irish squad now enter the market as free agents.

Viperio have announced the departure of their entire CS:GO roster alongside their coach. The organization states that they have failed to come to an agreement before the expiry date of the roster's most recent contracts, thus making the team free agents starting August 12.
The British organization also confirmed their commitment to UK Counter-Strike, but that they will take time to plan a replacement strategy before making any immediate signings.
Viperio made waves this year by qualifying for the BLAST Paris Major Europe RMR, attending as the lowest-ranked team across either of the Major-qualifying tournaments. While they exited with an 0-3 record, they took fnatic close in double overtime and took a map of Sprout in the elimination series.
Despite qualifying for their breakout tournament in Copenhagen, the team entered a slump before the RMR that culminated in a 17-match loss streak on HLTV, forcing the organization to make a pair of roster changes and add Javier "Ping" Griffiths and Kirk "Tadpole" Stephens in April.
The swap did little to change the team's fortunes, however, as early exits from CCT North Europe 5 and the failure to qualify for the next iteration of the tournament meant they continued to languish outside the top 100 in the world rankings.
Viperio's biggest achievement after their RMR run was a semi-final appearance at ESL Premiership Spring 2023, where they were eliminated by eventual winners Into the Breach. The roster is also currently sitting on a 2-0 record in the Swiss System of CCT East Europe Series 1 after bringing Andrew "Wolfie" Allan and Mohamad "Ducky" Nourelden on board before the tournament to replace Ping and Tadpole.
"I'd like to thank our CS:GO team for their efforts over the last 9 months. From competing in our first 2 seasons of the ESL Premiership, to reaching a tier one event at the Blast Paris Major EU RMR, there have been many highs across this time," said Christopher Sword, Viperio founder and managing director.
"While it was Viperio's intention to retain this roster and build upon our joint story, the team have a different vision which they're keen to pursue. I wish the players the best of luck in their careers and thank them for their contributions to date."
The following players have departed the Viperio organization:
