Patsi will reportedly miss ESL Pro League due to visa issues

Robert "⁠Patsi⁠" Isyanov will likely be unable to play for Liquid in their upcoming run through ESL Pro League Season 18 Group D due to visa issues, according to a report from Dust2.us.

Dust2.us' report goes on to say that Liquid have confirmed that it will be daps who will be filling in for the team. The Canadian coach, who will join the server for the first time in 18 months, last played an official match back in April 2022 when leading his now-defunct Orgless lineup.

The reason for Patsi's absence purportedly comes down to a delay in the Russian's US visa application. His application has not yet been approved by the US consulate, and as such the 20-year-old does not have his passport and is thus unable to travel to Malta to compete in Pro League. Dust2.us does state that there is a chance that Patsi can still make it to Malta should his visa be approved and his passport returned, but this is unlikely.

Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip also revealed on-stream that Liquid reached out to him to enquire about whether the 25-year-old would be willing to fly out to Europe to act as a substitute. Regardless, the lengthy travel time, which would require Stewie2K to travel to Liquid's HQ in the Netherlands on Saturday before flying out to Malta the next day, instead led to Liquid turning towards their skipper to fill the void.

Liquid's campaign through ESL Pro League Season 18 Group D begins on September 20 with an opening fixture versus Virtus.pro at 16:00 .
