BLAST Fall Showdown to be played in CS:GO

BLAST plans to make the switch to Counter-Strike 2 in time for November's Fall Final.

The BLAST Premier Fall Showdown will be played in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a representative from BLAST has confirmed to HLTV.

With one week to go before the Showdown is due to start on October 4, BLAST stated the belief that this isn't enough time for the participating teams to prepare to compete in Counter-Strike 2 after the new game officially launched on Wednesday.

The BLAST Premier Fall Final, which will return to Copenhagen's Royal Arena on November 22-26, is expected to run in Counter-Strike 2, BLAST has added.

The decision is in line with past occurrences when substantial gameplay updates were made to CS:GO close to the start of big tournaments, which then typically ran on an outdated version of the game.

Although Counter-Strike 2 is a successor to CS:GO rather than a new game, the older version will remain temporarily available for this purpose.

The BLAST Premier Fall Showdown will be played online in two regions, Europe and the Americas, with one spot at the BLAST Premier Fall Final on offer in each branch of the tournament. Eight teams will play in each region, including several big names such as ENCE, G2, and Cloud9 in Europe and Liquid, FURIA, Complexity, and Imperial in the Americas.

Usual L for Blast For EPL it makes sense cause it's literally in between the matches but for newer tournaments and events to not run on CS2 now is dumb decision. This is the game that gets played moving forward , why waste time with something that doesn't matter anymore ?
