EG, Forsaken make Jönköping closed qualifier
Both favorites advanced in the second open qualifier to run entirely on CS2.

Evil Geniuses and Forsaken both made it through their first Counter-Strike 2 open qualifier, joining Complexity and Nouns in the closed stage where one spot at ESL Challenger Jönköping is on offer.
Europe's open qualifier may have been marred by upsets, but such was not the case in North America.

EG and Forsaken didn't have too much difficulty making it through the single-elimination, best-of-one bracket to make it to the qualifying round, where the former was matched up against Party Astronauts and the latter faced Wildcard, the team currently sitting atop the ESL Challenger League Season 46 standings with a 6-0 record.
Party Astronauts, hot off a victory over Imperial in the Americas BLAST Fall Showdown, started strong with a dominant victory on their pick of Ancient. 13-4. They couldn't convert that into a 2-0 series victory, however, with Evil Geniuses bouncing back with a 13-9 win on Mirage before absolutely demolishing Ben "ben1337" Smith's men 13-1 on Overpass.
Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's Forsaken had a simpler time of things in their own deciding series, a 2.12-rated performance from Josh "JBa" Barutt powering the team to a 13-3 win on Overpass before they closed things out on Wildcard's Ancient pick, 13-6.
Evil Geniuses and Forsaken join Complexity and Nouns on the team list for the closed qualifier, where they will compete in a best-of-three, double-elimination bracket from October 10-11 to determine who secures a berth to ESL Challenger Jönköping.
