Thunderpick World Championship teams, format, schedule, prizes, talent

16 teams will compete for $500,000 from October 27 until the grand final on November 5.

FaZe will play their first event since their win down under

The inaugural Thunderpick World Championship will kick off on Saturday, October 27, running for a week before awarding the victor half of the $500,000 prize pool.

The online event features FaZe for the first time since their win at IEM Sydney and the news broke of Liquid's interest in Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken.

Counter-Strike 2's first Big Event champions are joined by the likes of Cloud9, MOUZ, and HEROIC — presumably with William "sirah" Kjærsgaard and Christoffer "Chr1zN" Storgaard standing in for Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard.

Thanks to two North American qualifiers, there is healthy representation when it comes to stars and stripes on the team list with Complexity, M80, Nouns, and Wildcard at the tournament.

That list does not include Liquid, who were replaced by Monte, as the team is reportedly undergoing a roster revamp that will once again make it a team with an American majority.

Participating teams

Eight invites were handed out for the event, and the 16-team strong lineup was filled out by the teams that progressed out of four single-elimination brackets (two in Europe, two in North America.)

Groups will be played in the GSL format, with four-team double elimination brackets across four separate groups seeded by HLTV Ranking.

Play then switches to a single-elimination eight-team bracket for playoffs.

If it were LAN I would favor Mouz and Col due to having a better team and more experience but with it being online Spirit can upset either of those teams on a good day

If mouz would get drawn to play heroic with ch1zn and sirah wouldn't that be a conflict of interest? Who am I kidding, a betting site runs this tournament, they couldn't give less of a fuck

Ask yourself why the betting site is hosting a 500k tournament.
